Funeral services for William “Gene” Craig, 90, of Pleasant Hill, LA, was held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Spring Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Dean Johnson and Rev. Marshall Ingle officiating. Burial followed in the Spring Ridge Cemetery. Visitation began on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Spring Ridge Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until the time of service on May 16th at 2:00 PM. Gene was born on April 1, 1936 and passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026 in his residence in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana. Gene was known to many as teacher, coach, principal, transportation supervisor, basketball referee, police juryman, first responder, volunteer firefighter, army veteran with the atomic energy commission, Deacon of Spring Ridge Baptist Church, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

FEBRUARY 3, 1937 — APRIL 18, 2026

On April 18, 2026, Maurice Riemer Calhoun, Jr. joined his mother Clista Andrews Calhoun, father Maurice Riemer Calhoun, Sr., daughter Marian Calhoun Snapp, sister Carolyn Huckabay and her husband Bill, brother Thomas A. Calhoun and his wife Beverly, along with numerous nieces and nephews in eternal peace and into God’s loving arms after a long and fruitful life. Born in Texarkana, Arkansas on February 3, 1937, he was a resident of Mansfield, LA since 1939 when his family moved to Mansfield where the Calhoun family had lived for generations. Riemer spent his teenage years restoring what was then called a “hot rod” that was featured on the cover of an automotive magazine. He later transferred his interest in cars to NASCAR and tried never to miss a race. On numerous occasions, he would loan one of his antique Model T Fords to others and enjoyed relating the fact that previous owners of his home had often hosted Henry Ford.

The Funeral service celebrating the life of Billie Pyle Simmons, 83, were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 20, 2026, at Logansport United Methodist Church in Logansport, Louisiana, with Bro. Dean Register officiating. Interment will follow at Deadwood Cemetery in Deadwood, Texas. The family received friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with Service time on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Logansport United Methodist Church.

Billie was born on August 22, 1942, in Shiloh, Louisiana to Gerald Woodrow Pyle and Mazie Worth McFadden Pyle and passed away April 16, 2026, in her home on the Pyle Farm in Logansport, Louisiana.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Mazie and Gerald Pyle and husband, Cecil Simmons.

Interment followed at Converse Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. Fay was born on March 6, 1932, in Zwolle, Louisiana to Bert James and Alma Austin Winkler and passed away April 6, 2026, in Mansfield, Louisiana. Fay was preceded in death by parents, Bert and Alma Winkler and daughter, Jackie Binghamton. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cindy Sebastian; sisters, Billie Miller, Hilda Butchen, Sally Houston, and Wanda McDonough; brothers, Lester Winkler, and Bert Winkler; 9 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Honoring Fay as pallbearers were Bert Winkler, Lester Winkler, Dustin Taylor and Gerald O’ Dell.

Tommy R. Mason, 84, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at his home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Funeral service were held Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Mansfield, Louisiana, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery. Officiating the will be Bro. Matt Ruiloba and Bro. Bob Latham. Tommy was born May 15, 1941, at home in DeSoto Parish to Robert Mason and Mary Mustin Mason. He passed away peacefully at home with his wife of 52 years by his side. He was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a dedicated employee of Nabors Trailers for 29 years until it’s closing, then worked Blackmon Trailers for 11 years, when he retired in 2003. He enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing and riding motorcycles with many of his lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jerry and brother Gene, who died in infancy.

Wayne DeLee Register, 91, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on March 25, 2026. Born March 5, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was raised in the Bethel Community near Logansport, Louisiana, the son of R.D. “Bud” Register and Mary Roberts Register.

Wayne grew up on a small dairy farm, one of eleven children, during years that demanded hard work and resilience from rural Louisiana families. His path to an LSU degree was anything but straight — interrupted twice by family obligation and circumstance — but he persevered, earning his diploma in 1970 while married and raising a family in northern Louisiana. He wore that Tiger pride for the rest of his life, and earned every bit of it.

Robert “Bob” Storm Lee, of Mansfield, LA passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at the age of 76 years old. A graveside service celebrating his life, was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana. The family received friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Rose Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. As the second born of three, Bob was born on September 10, 1949, in Homer, Louisiana, to Robert Nash Lee and Leatha Moore Lee. On July 4, 1969, he married the love of his life, Beverly Rogers, and they shared 58 devoted years together.

After high school, Bob proudly answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He carried that experience with quiet strength, humility, and a deep sense of pride throughout his life.

DENNIS MICHAEL “DOC” EASON

Dennis Michael “Mike or Doc” Eason passed away on March 17, 2026 in Mansfield, Louisiana. He was born on January 1, 1946 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Johnie and Joyce Eason.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Johnie and Joyce Eason and his brother John T. Eason.

Dennis is survived by a host of loving family including his brother Larry Eason of Houston, Texas, his daughters Krystal Eason and wife Julie of Shreveport, Louisiana, Erika Wilson and husband Craig of Rome, Georgia, his grandsons Patrick Wilson, Simon Wilson and Elliot Wilson all of Rome, Georgia.

Dennis loved the outdoors and was an avid bass fisherman and hunter. He also loved the LSU Tigers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandsons.

A life celebration was held at the Rose Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA on Sunday March 22, 2026 at 2:00p.m.
