Funeral services celebrating the life of Eddie Price “Sketti” Gallaspy, 71, was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Vernese Curry Green. Burial will follow at Gallaspy Cemetery, Mansfield, Louisiana. The family received friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Mansfield’s Roseneath funeral home.

Eddie was born April 10, 1954 to Hewitt and Marie Gallaspy in Mansfield, Louisiana. He entered into eternal rest on April 11, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Dianne Gallaspy; parents, Hewitt and Marie Gallaspy; infant sister; and sister, Bonnie Goodman.

Funeral services for Mary Evelyn Reynolds Hammontree, age 85, were held at Bailey Funeral Home in Springhill, LA on Saturday April 5, 2025 at 10:00 am with Brother David Permenter and Brother Clay Fuqua officiating. Interment was at Cotton Valley Cemetery in Cotton Valley, LA following the funeral service under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Funeral visitation was held at Bailey Funeral Home in Springhill, LA on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. She was born August 20, 1939 to father, John Foney Reynolds, and mother, Bertie Crowder Reynolds on the Crowder farm 3 miles north of Springhill, LA in Lafayette County Arkansas and died Thursday, March 27, 2025 in Shreveport, LA after a brief illness and is now in the presence of Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Mitchell Judson “Jud” Scott, III, 78, of Blanchard, Louisiana passed away March 19, 2025, with his loving family by his side. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Benton Methodist Church, 4615 Palmetto Road, Benton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at the church at 2:00 p.m. until service time. Reverend Brad Franklin and Reverend David Dietzel will officiate. Jud was born September 2, 1946, in Mansfield, Louisiana. Jud boasted of enjoying a perfect childhood growing up in Kingston, Louisiana, where his family homeplace included a sawmill, cotton gin, and general store in addition to his family home. Jud graduated from Mansfield High School and then headed to LSU where he met the love of his life in calculus class. After graduation, Jud began his lifelong career as a mechanical engineer for SWEPCO.

Marian Calhoun Snapp was born on April 3, 1962, and passed away at home in St. Louis, Missouri on Monday, March 3, 2025, after suffering from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). She spent her happy childhood years in Mansfield, Louisiana alongside her parents and brother. Marian accepted Jesus as the Lord of her life when she was six years old. After graduation from Mansfield High School, she earned a B.S. in Education and an M.S. in Speech Pathology from Baylor University. While at Baylor, she met the love of her life, Greg. Marian and Greg married after graduation from Baylor and loved their life together. They were blessed with Mary Kathleen, Sam, and Stewart. These children were gifts whom she adored.

MARY SUE GLOVER MAY

Mary Sue Glover May was born on December 27, 1940, at her home in Winnfield, Louisiana. Born to James Gifford Glover and Nona Idell Wallace Glover. She went home to be with the Lord on March 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. Sue attended Noble High School where she met her high school sweetheart, James “Sonny” May. They married on February 3, 1957, and together they had 6 children. They spent their first years in Shreveport and moved to DeSoto Parish in 1966. She was a homemaker until they acquired Hilltop Grocery, and she ran that for some years. She then went to work in the cafeteria at Stanley High School, and there she became MawMaw to all the children at Stanley High School. To this day, all her kids call her MawMaw, and remember how good the food was. Along with working at the school, she worked 2-3 additional jobs from restaurants, cleaning fish, and any other job to put food on her family’s table.
