2/14/34 12/07/24 Jon Valentine Lowe passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. A memorial service with honors was held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation was held Monday, December 16, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath. Inurnment was held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Reverend McKee Williams.

2/02/35 12/0924 Bearl “Red” Jones Lafitte, 89, of Mansfield, Louisiana passed away December 9, 2024. He was born on February 2, 1935 in Pelican, Louisiana to the late Burl Aulton Lafitte and Francis Semmes Young.

A visitation was held from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2024 located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk St. Mansfield, LA 71052. A funeral mass honoring the life of Red was held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rambin, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Fr. Tim Hurd. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Janet Tumbleson Pharris, age 61, on Saturday, December 7th, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law and friend. The funeral services, Brandon and Andrea Burnett officiating, will be held on Thursday, December 12th at 10:00 a.m. at RoseNeath Funeral Home, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will be held the following week at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans cemetery under the direction of Mike Armstrng.

Janet was born on December 24th, 1962, to William and Jane Tumbleson in Brooklyn, New York.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents William and Jane; three brothers, Robert, Jimmy and Richie Tumbleson.

Bobbie Burt Jackson, 83, of Mansfield, Louisiana passed away on November 26, 2024. She was born April 6, 1941, in Naborton, Louisiana to Oscar Lee and Mable DeValtz Burt.

A graveside service celebrating the life of Bobbie was held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 29, 2024 located at Pelican Cemetery, Commerce St, Pelican, LA 71063. Officiating the service was Rev. Amador Santos.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry “Jimmy” Jackson; parents; brothers, Floyd, James, Ray, William, and Roy; and sisters, Margie and Marie.

John Newman officiating. Interment followed at Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Louisiana. A visitation was held on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Dorothy was born June 21, 1951 to Ruben and Gertrude Melton in Shreveport, Louisiana and entered into rest on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. She lived a quiet simple life. Dorothy worked hard all her life and was able to retire quietly, enjoying her last years with her family and friends. Dorothy was definitely a kind person with a heart of gold, and she loved everyone she knew.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Gertrude Melton; husband, Kenneth Cloud; brother, Ruben Wayne Melton; and her in-laws, Julian and Eva Cloud.

Mary Gene Davis McFadden was born in Haslam, Texas to James Carroll and Florence Lillian Davis. She went to her Heavenly home on October 28, 2024 at the age of 93. Mary began her schooling in Pine Valley, Oklahoma. She was a graduate of Joaquin High School, Joaquin, Texas. She married Glen G. McFadden in 1952 and together they celebrated 71 years together before his passing in May of 2024. One of Mary’s proudest accomplishments was obtaining her various nursing degrees. In 1974 Mary graduated from Panola College, Carthage, Texas with her LVN degree. She further continued her nursing education at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas and obtained her Intensive Care Nursing Certificate in 1975. Finally, Mary obtained her RN degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana in August 1980. After 18 — years of service she retired from Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rambin, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana with the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Officiating the service was Father Mark Franklin.

Alice was born October 2, 1935, in Kinder, Louisiana, to Dan and Lola Guillotte and passed away on October 24, 2024, in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Preceding Alice in death are her parents, Dan and Lola Guillotte; and siblings, Jane Bass, Talma Arbuckle, Lewis Guillotte, Billy Guillotte, and Gene Guillotte.

Lynda Nadine Ferguson Creech Hinson, of Stanley, Louisiana, passed away surrounded by family on October 10, 2024 at her home after many years of battling cancer. Lynda was born on July 6, 1946 to Bennie W. and Nancy Young Ferguson in Logansport, Louisiana. She grew up on the family homestead in Hunter, Louisiana and went to grade school in Stanley, Louisiana. She remained an active member of the Logansport and Stanley communities her whole life and remained lifelong friends with many. After years working as a pharmacy technician, Lynda became a business owner in 1995. She took pride as an co-owner of Mansfield Drug. She valued working with her “drug store family” and in the community.

Lynda was known for her fun and kind nature, her generosity, and her eagerness to bring people together and make everyone laugh. She was the heart of her family and was the link that kept nieces, nephews, and cousins close across generations.

Tommy McMellon officiating. Interment followed in Coushatta, Louisiana at Bethany Cemetery with Thomas Tuck officiating. The family received friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Mansfield.

Charles was born on May 26, 1937, in Natchitoches, Louisiana to James Telsa and Eugene Coutee and passed away September 27, 2024, in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Juanita Telsa; parents James and Eugene Telsa; nephew, Eric James Long; and great niece, Telsa Parker.
