Lady Griffins Take Care of Business for a 3-Peat

By: Jennifer Wheless

The North DeSoto Lady Griffins are no strangers to playing in the post season. Playing at Frasch Park in Sulphur has in recent years become like a second “home field” for them. They Lady Griffins came back to Stonewall with the state championship trophy in 2015 and 2016 and were poised to do it again in 2017 as they were ranked number 1 going into the playoffs, as they had been most of the season. After getting a 1-0 win over Leesville in the second round, the Lady Griffins punched their ticket to Sulphur and only 3 games away from bringing home the championship once again. This trip was a business trip for the back to back defending state champions. Like Frankie said, “I did it my way”, these Lady Griffins did it their way, and they did it big.
