Homecoming at Mansfield High School was capped offed last week with a Wolverine victory over the Rosepine Eagles. The crowd in the stands was treated to an evening of Wolverine athletics and a presentation of the MHS Homecoming Court on Friday night, October 17, 2025, at Washington-Taylor-Rogers Stadium.

Wolverine defenders such as Junior #4 Adam Davis, Junior #7 Kendrick Wyatt, Junior #15 Lavel Claudio, Junior #22 Zayvon Sanders, Sophomore #23 Jordan Hamilton, Freshman #33 Kyson Addison, Sophomore #50 Levi Jackson, and Senior #61 Jordan Hives were busy all evening keeping the Eagles at bay and holding the visiting team to only two touchdowns in the night.

North DeSoto has made it through to the halfway point of the season with a perfect record. After a big homecoming win last week, the Griffins were back on the road to take on Minden.

The Mansfield Wolverines travelled to Coushatta on Friday, October 10, 2025, to face the Red River High School Bulldogs. As usual, the friendly rivalry between the two teams brought out some excellent football action for the home spectators as well as the travelling Mansfield faithful. When the final horn sounded, the Wolverines were the team on the winning side of the scoreboard and returned to Mansfield as the victors.

Welcome back Tiger fans! This week your Tigers traveled to Kinder Louisiana to face the Kinder Yellowjackets. First things first, coin toss: Tigers end up kicking the ball first, making it a Yellowjacket 1st down at the 32-yard line. Yellowjackets fumble and it’s recovered by #59 Williams and it’s a 1st down at the 40-yard line. #8 Bossier with the 1st down at the 45yard line. It’s 4th down and the Tigers are forced to punt and it’s a Yellowjacket 1st down. Yellowjackets snap the ball, quarterback brought down in the endzone for a safety and Tigers get the 2points. Score is now 2-0. Yellowjackets punt, Tigers #2 Barnes with the return and secures the 1st down at the 21-yard line. Flag is called against the Tigers for a false start. Pass is incomplete turning the ball over on downs, making it a Yellowjacket 1st down at the 22-yard line.

After coming off the big win at West Monroe, some wondered where the Griffins focus would be after the biggest win in school history. They would be put to the test again as they opened district with a rivalry game against Northwood.

Northwood received the ball. They took it down the field and scored in just five plays. It was 7-0 with 9:13 left. The Griffins got one first down on their opening drive, but had to punt it away. The ball was downed at the nine. Northwood attempted a field goal it was blocked and returned for a touchdown by Brayden Thomas of the Griffins, but it was called back on a penalty. The offense took over. They answered after a few runs from Kenny Thomas. Luke Delafield found Khy Johnson for a touchdown. It was 7-7 with 3:29 left. The Griffin defense forced three and out and Northwood punted.

The Mansfield Wolverines hosted the Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers at Washington-Taylor-Rogers Stadium on Friday, September 26, 2025. Wolverine fans were there to see the pre-game fireworks and enjoy watching their young men battle another higher-class school, as the Wolverines have done for several weeks now. Last week, the Wolverines suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the 4A Northwood Falcons, this time, the Wolverines were on the losing end again as they faced the 3A select charter school from Lake Charles.

Last season the West Monroe Rebels made a trip to Stonewall. It resulted in a blow out loss for North DeSoto. This season, the Griffins had to travel to one of the toughest places to play in the state of Louisiana to get their revenge. Coach Dunn challenged his team that if they could be more physical than West Monroe and keep it close in the fourth quarter that they would leave with a victory.

Welcome back Tiger fans! This week’s match up was the Logansport Tigers vs the Bossier Bearkats here at Logansport High School. Bossier came in with a record of 2-0. First things first, coin toss. Tigers win the toss and choose to defer to the second half. Tigers’ kickoff and the Bearkats secure their 1st down at their own 37-yard line. #5Packett with the stop for the Tigers, putting the ball at the 43-yard line and 2nd down. Bearkats run the ball to the 50-yard line, securing the 1st down. Tigers are able to hold the Bearkats back from gaining any yards forcing them to punt the ball. Tigers secure the 1st down at the 48-yard line. #6 Cason with the 1st down at the 38-yard line. #5 Packett runs the ball in for the 1st down at the 25-yard line. Flag: two ejections on the field. #7 for Bossier and #0 Perkins for the Tigers. #6 Cason with the Tiger Touchdown, but there’s a flag on the play, Tigers re-do the play again.

The Mansfield High School Wolverine Football Team travelled to Jerry Burton Memorial Stadium in Blanchard, LA, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, to take on the Giants from Green Oaks High School. Coming off of a major come-from-behind win against the Minden Crimson Tide, the Wolverines were poised and ready to take on another foe. For the second week in a row, the Wolverines emerged victorious as they defeated the Giants 28 – 22 The Wolverines scored first in their first possession of the game. The Wolverine fans were continued to be amazed at the athleticism of Senior #9 Terrell Pegues. While Junior QB #2 Jaterrious Howard utilized the running game of Pegues on several downs, the passing game of #2 Howard to Senior #19 Jakorrion Greer also was highlighted. On this drive, the #2 Howard to #19 Greer passing game helped pull out the first TD. With 7:50 remaining in Q1, the Wolverines struck their first blow against the Giants and were first on the scoreboard with MHS 6, GOHS 0.

The Griffins hosted their home opener Friday. It was against Center. A game in the past that typically comes down to the last snap.

The Griffins received the ball to start the game. They got one first down, but then turned it over on downs. Porter Doyal had two big hits on defense. Landyn Berry got a sack and tackle for loss. The Griffin defense bends but didn’t break. They forced a field goal attempt which Center missed. The offense found their rhythm quickly. Luke Delafield found Braylon Moore for 25 yards. Then found Khy Johnson wide open in the end zone for a touchdown. It was 7-0 with 3:47 left. The defense forced a three and out on big hits from Berry, Adarryl Page, and Bryce Evans. Center punted. After a few runs from Kenny Thomas, Delafield found Christian Ashworth for a 53 yard touchdown. It was 14-0 with ten seconds left.
