Welcome back Tiger fans! This week’s matchup is Logansport Tigers VS Many Tigers. First things first, coin toss. Logansport wins the toss and chooses to defer to the second half. #11 Martin kicks off the ball, Many catches and runs it to their own 42-yard line for a 1st down. #52 Pouncy with the direct contact for the Tigers, 2nd down Many at the 47-yard line. Many is able to secure the 1st down at the Tiger 48-yard line. #5 Packett with the stop for the Tigers, 2nd down at the 39-yard line. Flag is called: encroaching defense, Many 1st down. 2nd down and there’s no gain of yards. 3rd down for Many at the 30-yard line and it’s an incomplete pass, setting it up for 4th down, and another incomplete pass. Tigers get the 1st down at the 30-yard line. #12 Brown with the run, 2nd down at the 32-yard line. Tigers secure a 1st down at the 42-yard line. Many is able to hold the Tigers forcing a punting situation.

Mansfield High School hosted the DeSoto Parish Football Jamboree Friday, August 29, 2025, at Washington-Taylor-Rogers Stadium. DeSoto Parish high school football fans were treated to three games involving the Logansport Tigers, Mansfield Wolverines, and North DeSoto Griffins.

Welcome back Tiger fans! This week’s game was the DeSoto Jamboree with North DeSoto, Mansfield, and Logansport. To start things off, the Logansport Tigers face Mansfield Wolverines. Mansfield kicks off the ball and it rolls to the 39yard line, giving the Tigers their 1st down. Mansfield is able to hold the Tigers for the 2nd down. #6 Cason goes for the pass but it falls incomplete. Tigers are forced into a punting situation, Mansfield 1st down at the 15-yard line. Tigers are able to hold Manfield from gaining any yards. 3rd down and Mansfield goes for the pass but it’s blocked by #0 Perkins, now making it 4th down and Mansfield goes for the punt. #5 for the Tigers goes for a pickup but fumbles, Mansfield scoops the ball and secures a 1st down at the 50-yard line. Tigers are able to hold Mansfield for 2nd and 3rd down, another punting situation for Mansfield. Ball rolls to the 2-yard line.

ND scrimmaged Benton to kick off the season. ND had multiple touchdown passes during their 10 minute offense period. Kenny Thomas had a kick return for a touchdown in the special teams period. Ethan Ivy had an interception on defense. ND won the live two live quarters 24-14. Braelyn Latin scored all three touchdowns, followed by a Dakota Denny field goal.

North DeSoto Varsity Football Hosts Youth Football Camp Photo Highlights

The Many Bass Club held its sixth tournament of 2025 on June 8 and 9. The anglers could choose to fish either Friday night, Saturday, Saturday night, or Sunday. Four members fished Saturday, three members fished Saturday night, and five fished Sunday. Although the weather was unseasonably hot with afternoon temperatures in the midnineties and water temperatures in the mid-eighties, the fishing was good for the club members. Nine anglers weighed in five-fish limits, all of them double digit stringers. There was a 19.97 pound stringer, five 15 pound stringers separated by less than .3 pounds, three 14 pound stringers, and several fish over five pounds brought to the scales.

Girls ages kindergarten and up are invited to attended a one day camp open to all on Tuesday, June 17 at Logansport High School Field at 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The fee per player is $40.00 and each player must provide their own equipment and water jug. DeSoto Parish 4-H held its first horse show on Saturday, May 10th at the Flying M Arena in Keachi, Louisiana. Most of the contestants entered at the show completed a nine month 4-H Horse Club program offered by Ami Altom, DJ Haley and Nicole Jackson. The 4-H members were eligible to compete in several classes boasting nice prizes and awards to end the year. Every contestant at the show either stepped up to try something new, try their best or better yet both! There was a happiness in the arena that day that could only be described as valuable experience meeting a new self-confidence, and maximum delight as applause filled the air after every contestant competed. This little club has brought so many people together throughout the parish, as members, volunteers, parental support, experience horseman passing down tools, and new friendships forged over the common love of a horse.

The Shreveport Police Department hosted a spring softball tournament for local law enforcement and fire department agencies. It was a day full of laughter, camaraderie and downright fun.

It was a great weekend for some friendly softball competition! We appreciate Shreveport Police Department, which included a team from DeSoto Parish for hosting this fun event for local law enforcement!
