After winning a big game last week against Evangel, the Griffins were hoping to keep the momentum going as they took on a strong Huntington team.

After two weeks on the road, the Griffins were back at home in their final regular season home game against Bossier.

Homecoming for the Mansfield Wolverines was a great night for football, as the Wolverines soundly defeated the Winnfield Tigers 38-0. Washington-Taylor- Rogers Stadium was packed with fans on Friday, October 28, 2023, to see the hometown guys in action and experience the Homecoming excitement at MHS.

North DeSoto had been cruising lately. But now they faced their biggest test of the season in the battle for first place in district against Evangel.

Friday, October 13, 2023,provedtobealucky day for the Mansfield High School Wolverines, as the team traveled to Jonesboro to face the Jonesboro-Hodge High School Tigers and returned to Mansfield with a resounding victory over the district opponent.

The first quarter of the game was a backand-forth exhibit of the running games for both teams; no points were scored by either team. During the second quarter, the Wolverine offense came alive with both running by seniors #4 Rykeelin Vanzant and #8 Terrance Pegues and receiving with Senior #18 Kentraylan Spencer. The offensive action, coupled with some impressive defensive plays by Sophomore #9 Terrell Pegues, Juniors #5 Jaylen O’Neal and #14 Jamorian Atkins, and Seniors #19 Jermicheal Howard, #52 Jakobe Bussey, and #55 Jeremiah Eckles, brought the first half to an end with the score MHS 13, JHHS 0.

The Griffins have been having a lot of success in district play so far this season. They looked to continue that as Woodlawn came to town in what would be the last of their third straight game at home.

The Mansfield High School Wolverine Football Team traveled to Many to face the highly ranked district opponent, the Many High School Tigers. Four quarters of football action occurred Friday, October 6, 2023; however, the Wolverines could not secure a victory against the perennial football powerhouse that has participated in the State championship game for the last 4 seasons and were defeated 42-13.

The Mansfield fans were witness to the perpetual strong running game that the Wolverines have utilized so far this season. Seniors #4 Rykeelin Vanzant and #8 Terrance Pegues continued to prove that their speed and strength are the backbone of the offense; juniors #2 Kalvin Jackson, #24 Jaden Ross, and #25 Jaylyn Howard, along with sophomore #9 Terrell Pegues, also contributed to the Wolverine offense, led by junior QB #7 Sharmal Booker.

The Griffins are coming off of a big shut out win at home against Minden. They look to do the same this week with BTW for homecoming.
