The Mansfield Lady Wolverines and Wolverines hosted the BTW Lady Lions and Lions in basketball action on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, in the MHS Gymnasium.

Northwestern State University’s Gallaspy Family College of Education and Human Development and the School of Education honored seven graduating seniors during an Apple Pinning ceremony Dec. 8 to mark the end of their journey as undergraduates and the start of their careers as educators. Two graduates are from The Enterprise’s reading area. From left are Tyler French of Robeline, Angela Gonzales of Richmond, Texas; Hunter Brown of Raceland, Jalen Wilson of Coushatta, Macy Dowden of Many, Skye Buentello of Florien and Makailia Roberson of Shreveport. They were joined by family, peers and faculty mentors who supported them as they reach the threshold of their teaching careers. This senior class for North DeSoto ended their freshman season with a heartbreaking loss in the Superdome. Ever since then they’ve been working to get back there, to finish what they started. And with a win against Plaquemine, they would get the opportunity to do just that.

The Griffins received. They got a first down on run from LukeDelafield, but then decided to go for it on fourth down and didn’t get it. They turned it over on downs on their opening drive.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, the Mansfield Wolverine Football Team played the Jena Giants at the Jena High School Stadium. Due to the LHSAA’s divisional grouping for the playoffs, the 2A Wolverines were facing a larger 3A school again. Over 200 fans from Mansfield made the trek to support the MHS young men, but everyone knew it was going to be a battle as the Wolverines were coming in ranked #8 and the Giants were the #1 ranked football team in the LHSAA Non-Select Division III. The Wolverines were eventually defeated by the Giants, but it was only after a 4quarter fight to the finish for the smaller team.

The competition was getting tougher as North DeSoto entered the quarterfinals of the playoffs. They were taking on the eight seed Franklinton.

The Griffins received the ball to start. It took them just five plays to score. Braylon Moore and Christian Ashworth both had catches. After that it was three runs from Kenny Thomas who took it in for a touchdown. It was 7-0 with 10:41 left. Franklinton went three and out and punted. Ashworth had a 35 yard return. The offense kept moving with two runs from Braelyn Latin, pass to Miller Warren, run by Thomas, before Luke Delafield scrambled in for a touchdown. It was 14-0 with 8:09 left. The Griffins attempt an onside kick but don’t recover it. Franklinton takes advantage of the short field and puts together a long drive to score. It was 14-7 with 4:40 left. Dealfield threw an interception on the first play. Franklinton took over in the red zone. They scored in two plays. It was 14-13 with 4:13 left.

It’s playoff time. After a round one bye, the Griffins were well rested and ready for their first opponent. They were taking on Deridder.

The fireworks before the game were just a prelude to the action on the field Friday, November 21, 2025, at Washington-Taylor-Rogers Stadium, as the LHSAA Playoff Non-Select Division III #8 ranked 2A Wolverines hosted the #9 ranked 3A Marksville Tigers. As was expected, the back-and-forth possession exchange kept the fans in the stands for four full quarters and an overtime!

Welcome back Tiger fans! This week kicks off the playoffs with Logansport ranked #5 VS the Varnado Wildcats ranked #28 at home! First things first, coin toss. The Wildcats win the toss choosing to defer to the second half. #2Barnes with the kickoff return, securing the 1st down at the 23-yard line. #6Cason with the Tiger Touchdown! 2-point conversion is good! Score is 8-0. Tigers punt and the Wildcats get the 1st down at their own 24-yard line. Tigers force the Wildcats to punt and it takes a roll to the 39-yard line for a Tiger 1st down. #1Dotson with the reverse, carrying the ball to the Wildcat 18-yard line. #12Brown with the 1st down goal to goal and the pass to #5Packett is good, scoring the Tiger Touchdown! 2-point conversion is good, leading the score 16-0. Tigers punt; Wildcats secure a 1st down at the 47-yard line. Wildcats are unable to move the chains, being forced to punt the ball. #1Dotson with the return for the 1st down at the 31-yard line.
