The Mansfield Wolverine Football Team was ready and waiting to host the Winnfield Tigers in the first round of the State Football Playoffs on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Washington-Taylor-Rogers Stadium. The two teams had faced off earlier this season in a district game. The first game was a win for the Wolverines, and another win for the Wolverines was the outcome of this game.

The Wolverine fans at Washington- Taylor-Rogers Stadium were filled with anticipation as the Many Tigers came to face the hometown young men on Friday, November 7, 2025, in a contest to determine bragging rights for District 3-2A. The MHS Wolverines, already ranked in the top 10 for the LHSAA Non-Select Division III, knew they had an assignment for the evening– beat the Many Tigers and be the sole district champions.

LaSalle kicks off the ball and the Tigers immediately jump on-top of it for the 1st down at the 42-yard line. #2Barnes with the 1st down at the 46-yard line. Tigers fumble the ball and LaSalle recovers it at the 48-yard line. Flag is called against LaSalle for a false start, making the ball down at the 43-yard line. Tigers force LaSalle into a punting situation; Tigers secure the 1st down at the 41-yard line. #5Packett with the reception, securing a Tiger 1st down at the 41yard line. #6Cason with the 1st down at the 30yard line. #6Cason passes the ball to #5Packett for the Tiger Touchdown! 2-point conversion is good! Tigers leading the score 8-0. Tigers kick, and LaSalle gets the 1st down at the 43-yard line.

On Friday, October 24, 2025, the Mansfield High School Wolverine Football Team hosted the Winnfield Tigers. The Wolverines, who were coming off a big Homecoming win over the Rosepine Eagles the previous week, were ready to play again in front of the home crowd at Washington- Taylor-Rogers Stadium. The Wolverines kicked to the Tigers to start the game, and Winnfield had the ball near their own 40 yd line. The second play of the Tiger drive resulted in a fumble by the Tigers. Mansfield Senior #9 Terrell Pegues was able to recover the ball and run it in for a Wolverine touchdown. Junior QB #2 Jaterrious Howard was able to hand off the ball to #9 Pegues to complete the 2-pt conversion. At 9:20 in Q1, the score was MHS 8, WHS 0. Winnfield answered with a TD to bring the score to MHS 8, WHS 6 at 4:35 in Q1.

Welcome back Tiger fans! This week your Tigers traveled to Lakeview to face the Lakeview Gators. First thing first: coin toss. The Gators win the toss, choosing to the receive the ball first. The Tigers kickoff and the ball rolls to the 14yard line, making it a Gator 1st down. The Tigers are able to hold the Gators from moving the chain forcing a punting situation, Gators punt and #1 Dotson with the return, running it to the 8-yard line. #12 Brown running the ball in for the Tiger Touchdown! 2-point attempt is no good, making the score 6-0. Tigers kick, the Gators securing the 1st down at the 35-yard line. Flag is called against the Gators, pushing them back to the 25-yard line. It isn’t long until the Gators are forced into a punting situation, ball rolls to the 50-yard line, giving the Tigers the 1st down. Flag is called against the Tigers for holding, pushing the ball back to the 45-yard line. Pass to #1 Dotson is complete and he runs the ball in for the Tiger Touchdown!

After a big 63-13 win over Minden last week, the Griffins were back at home for another district game against Southwood. A game they knew they couldn’t sleep walk through in order to get a win.

Southwood received to start the game. They went three and out. Landyn Berry blocked punt and the offense took over at the three yard line. It only took two plays before Braylon Moore found the end zone for a touchdown. They went for two and didn’t get it. It was 6-0 with 8:30 left. Southwood went three and out again, thanks to an Ethan Ivy sack. The offense worked fast again. One play, Luke Delafield found Colton Lacour wide open for a touchdown. It was 130. Porter Doyal got a sack on defense on the next drive Adarryl Thomas also had a tackle for loss. Southwood was driving going into the second quarter.

Homecoming at Mansfield High School was capped offed last week with a Wolverine victory over the Rosepine Eagles. The crowd in the stands was treated to an evening of Wolverine athletics and a presentation of the MHS Homecoming Court on Friday night, October 17, 2025, at Washington-Taylor-Rogers Stadium.

Wolverine defenders such as Junior #4 Adam Davis, Junior #7 Kendrick Wyatt, Junior #15 Lavel Claudio, Junior #22 Zayvon Sanders, Sophomore #23 Jordan Hamilton, Freshman #33 Kyson Addison, Sophomore #50 Levi Jackson, and Senior #61 Jordan Hives were busy all evening keeping the Eagles at bay and holding the visiting team to only two touchdowns in the night.
