Laura Anne Fletcher Perrett

Our Mother, Laura Anne Fletcher Perrett, of Logansport, Louisiana, was born on April 3, 1934, to Hugh Oliver and Robbie Singletary Fletcher and died August 12, 2017, at the age of 83. Mom lived most of her life in Logansport, where she was co-owner of Perrett’s Food Store and Shelter Insurance. She received her Bachelor’s in Education From Stephen F. Austin State University and her Master’s Plus 30 from Louisiana State University. She was a 6th. grade and later a 3rd. grade teacher at Central School Corporation for 11 years. After retirement from Central she taught in the Desoto Parish School System, for 20 years. Mom remained active in many organizations, that included Order Of Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma and Phi Kappa Phi Sororities, Friends Of Desoto Parish Library, Friends Of 4-H, Member of Logansport First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

Funeral services honoring the life of Jonathan Litton, Sr., 34, were at 11:00 AM Monday, August 7, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Bob Latham and Reverend David Permenter officiating. Burial followed at Allen Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home on Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4PM till 9PM. Jonathan was born on December 27, 1982 in Shreveport, LA to Donna and Thomas Litton, Jr. and entered into rest on August 3, 2017 in Marshall, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Evans Litton. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his father, Thomas Litton, Jr.

Ernest Lamar Nix

Ernest Lamar Nix finished his work on earth on August 4, 2017. There was a memorial service to celebrate him and his life on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at 3:30 pm, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Stanley, Louisiana, burial followed at the Mt. Olivet cemetery. There was a time of visitation and reminiscence at Mt. Olivet beginning at 2:00 pm, prior to the memorial service. Ernest Lamar Nix was known by many names to those who knew and loved him. He was born on October 23, 1926, and was “Son” to James Billington Nix and Mattie Bell Webb Nix. He was “Brother” to James Nix, Iva Nix Waldrip, Reba Nix Hansen, Rita Nix Stotts, and Douglas Nix, all of whom have predeceased him. He was “Son-In-Law”, but truly much more, to Walter and Pearl Golden, who loved him as their own.

John Terrel Eason

A memorial service celebrating the life of John T. Eason will be held on August 5, 2017 at 10:30AM at Beulah Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Dave Permenter officiating. John was born in Mansfield on August 31, 1943 and died on July 6, 2017 at his home on Toledo Ben Lake in Sabine Parish. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie and Joyce Johniken Eason of Mansfield. He is survived by his only child, his daughter, Leslie Eason of Converse, LA; his two brothers, Dennis Michael Eason of Mansfield and Larry Eason, now living in China, his aunt,, Ms Lucille Johniken of Logansport, his ex-wife Sherri Rascoe and her husband Buford, who called him his best friend. T.J. loved riding motorcycles and all of his biking friends. He was an active participant in The Patriot Riders and a former member of CMA. He was also an active member of Beulah Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. John truly loved gospel music. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

John “Johnny” Arthur Blunt

John “Johnny” Arthur Blunt of Grand Cane, LA went home to be with the Lord peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Visitation was held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA from 5:00 PM till 9:00 PM. Celebration of life was held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Stanley, LA with Rev. Kathy Fitzhugh and Rev. Richard L. Tull officiating. Graveside followed at Friendship Cemetery in Grand Cane, LA. Johnny was born June 24, 1943 in Grand Cane, LA to Lawrence and Pearl Blunt. He and his brother Bubba owned and operated Blunt Lumber Co.; a trade passed on to them by their father. He will be remembered as a successful businessman and farmer who had a deep love of land and cows. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was full of life, full of knowledge, always smiling and never met a stranger. He had an infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor.
