Graveside services celebrating the life of Jeanette Norwood will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Pelican Cemetery, Pelican, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. William Valentine.

Jeanette was born February 18, 1945, to John and Kattie Atwood Valentine in Shreveport, Louisiana and entered into rest on Monday, December 4, 2023. Jeanette graduated from LSUS with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and Masters plus in Computer Science. She retired from Louisiana Technical College in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Norwood; sister, Joyce Bedsole; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, John and Kattie Atwood Valentine and three brothers, Johnny Valentine, Thomas Valentine and Leonard Valentine.

Deborah Gail Foshee, 67, of Logansport, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 19, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born May 22, 1956, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Clarence and Odie Chreene Foshee.

Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Foshee, and sister, Charolette Foshee.

She is survived by her mother, Odie Chreene Foshee, sister, Rebecca Seago, brother, David Merle Foshee, six nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on a later date.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Donnie F. Sistrunk, 87, of Converse, Louisiana, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Converse First Baptist, located at 211 W Caddo Ave, Converse, Louisiana. Bro. Brian Rankin officiated. Interment followed at Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Converse First Baptist.

Donnie, a lifelong resident of Converse, Louisiana, graduated in 1954 and lived a life filled with love for the Lord, his family, his community, and his cherished cattle.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruby “Ever” Goodman Burr were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Kilpatrick’s RoseNeath Chapel, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Bro. Dexter Goynes and assisting, Arick Lassiter. Interment followed at Converse Cemetery, Converse, Louisiana. Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home-Mansfield.

Ever was born on August 24, 1952, to Norris and Ruby Goodman in Mansfield, Louisiana and she passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, November 10, 2023.

She is preceded in death by her husband, George Burr; father, Norris Goodman; mother, Ruby Procell Deason; brothers, Winfred Goodman, and Bo Goodman; and sister, Shirley Johnson.

JOHN FRANKLIN WOODS 4/15/1955 – 11/11/2023

Funeral services celebrating the life of John Franklin Woods will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Chapel, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Dr. Chad Hardbarger. Interment will follow at Sloan Cemetery, Mansfield, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, Louisiana.

John Franklin Woods was born in Mansfield, Louisiana to the parents of John E. Woods and Ida Bell Cordova Woods. He lived in the Carmel Community on Daw Road his whole life. He retired from Valley Electric as a lineman with 31 years of service. He loved all his family and animals.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, infant sister, Elizabeth Ann Woods; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Graveside service for Kathleen James were at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Grand Cane Cemetery, Grand Cane, LA. Officiating the service was Pastor Mike Scott.

Kathleen was born December 5, 1930, to John and Beulah Mae Irvin and entered into rest on October 28, 2023, in Shreveport, LA.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alton James, Sr.; parents; great-granddaughter Brycee Jo Burkett; great-grandson Shepherd Wade Keen; and son-in-law Joel Allen.

Mary Maxine Evans Lynch, 85, of DeSoto Parish, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mary was born on November 11, 1937, in Mansfield, Louisiana to Floyd Johnston Evans and Berta Thurman Evans.

A visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Funeral services honoring the life of Mary were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dean Register. Interment was at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, 322 Church Road in Keatchie, Louisiana. Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be Ronnie Lee, John Whitaker, Britlyn Garrett, Madelyn Garrett, Donnie Lee, and Don Brown.

Funeral services for Henry Sale was at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 3, 2023, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, LA. Officiating the service was Rev. Jesse Truitt. Interment followed at Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 PM until 7:00 Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the funeral home.

Henry was born September 25, 1962, in Mansfield, LA and passed away October 29, 2023.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, James Sale and Lucy Petty. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Hope Sale; sons Henry “Hank” Sale, II; daughters Ellen Dominguez and husband Eli and Emily Norred and husband Tyler; sister Noel Sale; brother, David Robert Sale; and grandchildren, Blair Sale, Henry Sale, III, Henley Sale, Brylee Dominguez, Brenna Dominguez, Braelynn Dominguez, and Joshua Norred.

A graveside service for Tommie Joe Cordova, 77, was held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 14320 US Hwy. 84, Logansport, Louisiana.

Tommie passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2023 in Keithville, Louisiana surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born in Mansfield, Louisiana on March 30, 1946. His family later moved to Ferriday where he graduated from Ferriday High School in 1964. While in high school, he excelled in basketball and was a strong leader on and off the court.

He then went on to NSU where he received his master’s degree in education. While teaching was his passion, his love of country called him to enlist. He joined the Air Force in 1970 before beginning his teaching career, proudly serving a tour of duty in Korea.

A visitation for Mrs. Edna Wheless was held Monday, October 23, 2023 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Rose Park Baptist Church, 5560 Buncombe Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71129 under the direction of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Bro. Buck Furlow, associate pastor, conducted the services. Graveside service were at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana.
