JANE FORRESTER BENNETT

Jane Forrester Bennett was born on July 19, 1934, in Kosciusko, Mississippi. After graduating from high school, she began her career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. She later transferred to New Orleans, Louisiana, where she met the love of her life, Hugh B. Bennett Jr. The two eventually settled in Mansfield, Louisiana, where they raised their family and built a life centered around love, strength, and devotion to one another. Jane was an entrepreneur at heart. She spent many years in the insurance and real estate business, forming lasting relationships and earning the trust and respect of those she served. She was known for her remarkable generosity and her servant’s heart. Her faith was central to her life, and she was an active and devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church. She gave freely of her time, resources, and love, quietly helping others whenever there was a need.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugh B. Bennett Jr.; her father, Dee Irving Forrester; her mother, Ruby Russom Forrester; her sister, Mary Frances Forrester; and her brother, Irving Dee Forrester.

She is survived by her sister, Ada Sailor; her daughters, Debbie Bennett, Patricia Bennett, and Margaret Buice and her husband, Sam; her cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Courtney, Jessica, Kimberly, and Amy; her treasured great-grandchildren, Ledger, Eastlyn, and Luca; and a future great-grandchild expected in March.

Jane was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends whose lives she touched throughout the years.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
