7/19/40 – 11/29/22

Funeral services celebrating the life of Billy Claude Brumley, 82, of Mansfield, Louisiana, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Chapel, Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service were Bro. Brad Darner and Bro. Mike Stewart. Burial followed at Mitchell Cemetery, Mitchell Community, Louisiana. Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Billy was born on July 19, 1940, to R.G. “Hip” and Syble Brumley and entered into rest on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, after a lengthy illness.

First and foremost, Billy loved the Lord with his whole heart. He took every opportunity to witness to those around him. Billy worked as an auto salesman and school bus driver. His hobbies included witnessing for his Lord and Savior, fishing, hunting, and camping.

ANNIE RUTH SPRINGER SIMMONS 3/02/28 - 11/24/22

Annie Ruth Springer Simmons was born March 2, 1928, in Mansfield, DeSoto Parish, Louisiana.

She spent her childhood & adolescent years growing up in Sabine Parish. She graduated from Mansfield High School in De Soto Parish, Louisiana. Annie spent some time living in Long Beach, California employed with the telephone company as a long-distance and marine telephone operator and Shari‘s restaurant as a head hostess. Any time away from work, she enjoyed dancing with her sister Danielle who was a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Studios.

Annie married Daniel Reed Simmons on March 1, 1952, in Mansfield, Louisiana. Together they lived and raised four children on acreage south of Mansfield. And during that time for many years, she was the bookkeeper in her husband’s home-building construction business.

PAUL D. BROWN 05/31/60 – 11/18/22

A memorial service celebrating the life of Paul D. Brown will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Southside Baptist Church, located at 7329 Hwy. 509 in Mansfield. Dr. Gary Orr and David Hill will be officiating. A private burial will be held later.

Paul was born May 31, 19160 in Newport, Rhode Island to Jack and Joyce Brown. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 18,2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Paul retired from the U. S. Navy after 22 and one-half years of service.

Paul was preceded in death by his Mother, Joyce Brown; Grandparents Carlton and Eva Brown and Arthur and Ozzie McDaniel.

With great sadness, the family of Gilmer S. Pittard announces his passing on to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 8th, at the age of 88.

Gil, as he was known by family and friends, was born in Mansfield, Louisiana. He a grew up and went to school in Grand Cane, Louisiana, where he graduated early by attending summer school. He continued his education at Louisiana Tech earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1956. As a member of the Air Force ROTC, after graduation, Gil was assigned to the National Security Agency in Washington, D.C. from 1959 to 1970, before moving into civilian service.

Veronica Carolyn (Graham) Muench passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in Houma, Louisiana.

Carolyn was born in Kountze, Texas on October 21, 1955. She grew up in Mansfield, LA, and graduated from Mansfield High School. She later became a resident of South Louisiana, which held her long-standing love for the food and culture.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Carolyn was one of 5 siblings to Betty Graham, Sandra Graham, Kathleen Graham, and Richard Graham Jr. Carolyn had many fond memories of growing up in a large but close-knit family with much teasing and laughter, and love.

Preceded in death by her parents; Billy Jean Coleman Graham and Richard Doyle Graham Sr., and brother; Richard Graham Jr., and longtime companion Ronny Goubert Sr., she is survived by her son; Van Reech III, (daughter-inlaw; Rachel Stoutes), daughter; Emily Muench and grandson; Kingston Vance and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

ANN ELEANOR MINDER WEEKS 9/26/28 –11/4/22 Funeral services for Ann Eleanor Weeks will be held at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church on Saturday, November 12, with visitation at 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church cemetery. Rev. David Permenter and Rev. Richard Tull will officiate.

Ann passed away on September 4, 2022 at Mansfield Nursing Center where she had lived for the past two year. She was born September 26, 1928 after her family had immigrated to America. Her Romanian parents were Louis and Floarea Minder. She was the baby of the family with 9 older siblings, and was born in the United States. She was very proud to be an American, but was also equally proud of her Romanian heritage. She was retired from DeSoto Regional Hospital’s Administration.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Allen Weeks, her parents, eight siblings, and grandson Dustin Chance Weeks.

SARAH LORINE HEMPHILL HARPER 10/10/64- 11/02/22 Funeral services for Sarah Lorine Hemphill Harper, age 58, of Converse, LA, were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5th 2022 at Henrietta CM Church. Officiating at the service were Rev. Charles Clark and Rev. Dick Enterkin. Visitation was held on Friday, November 4th, from 6:00 pm to 9pm.

Burial followed in Union Springs Cemetery under the direction of Roseneath funeral home. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Charles Clark and Rev. Dick Enterkin.

Sarah passed on Nov 2nd, 2022 at her home following a lengthy illness.

Sarah was a homemaker and a member of Henrietta CM Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

CHARLES ARMOUR BURFORD 1/27/51 – 10/25/22 Charles Armour Burford was born on January 27, 1951, to Virginia Armour Burford and John Franklin “Frank” Burford. He went to be with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the age of 71. Visitation was held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. The funeral service was held Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Gloster Baptist Church in Gloster, Louisiana with burial at the Keachi Cemetery. The service was officiated by Dr. Ron McLellan assisted by Rev. Crawford Williams.

RONNIE TILFORD

ROE 12/01/43 - 10/27/22 A graveside service for Ronnie Tilford Roe will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana with full military honors. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana.

Ronnie was born December 1, 1943, in Paris, Kentucky. He was greeted by his Mom and 2-year-old sister while his father was serving in WWII (his father had been home on leave 9 months earlier).

After his Daddy returned, the family moved onto a tobacco farm where Ronnie and his Daddy worked together until Ronnie joined the Air Force, after graduating from high school in 1961.

As an Airman 2nd class serving in the Philippines, Ronnie had top secret clearance which makes everyone that knew him later laugh because he could not keep a secret.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Eileen Nugent will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, in Mansfield, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, Louisiana. Rev. David Permenter will be officiating the service. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022, and

Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Eileen was born December 2, 1949, to Floyd and Myrtle Britt House in Shreveport, Louisiana. She peacefully entered into rest at her home on October 28, 2022.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry Nugent; sons, Curtis Ray Cannon, Jr., and wife, Caroline, James Edward Cannon, and wife, Kristina; daughters, Debra Renee Dominguez and husband, Ezequiel, Margo Vanessa Cooke, and husband Todd; eight grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
