JACOB TRAVIS GAMBLE

Jacob Travis Gamble was a deeply loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin and friend. He was born to Joseph Mark Gamble and Kimborlie Ann Gamble, née Patten, in Webster, TX on May 14th, 1997. He passed away on September 10th, 2021 at the young age of 24. That day the world lost an incredible man with so much love and promise far too soon.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Marsha Anders, 66, was held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, Louisiana with Bro. Azell Ott, Jr. officiating. Marsha was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She left this world on September 9, 2021.

She was born to Thomas Joshua and Marjorie Paul on June 17, 1955. After graduating from high school Marsha went on to college and received a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern State University. She didn’t stop there, and received a Master of Arts degree from Louisiana Tech as well as a Master of Social Work from Louisiana State University. Marsha was also a licensed clinical social worker. She always knew she wanted to be a social worker; she loved people and wanted to make a difference.

Sarah Sibley Pepmiller, 88, entered into eternal rest on September 12, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Pepmiller was held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Cornerstone Cowboy Church in Logansport, Louisiana. A visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Bro. Frankie Mathis, pastor of Cornerstone Ministry Cowboy Church. Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley at a later date due to inclement weather.

Mrs. Pepmiller was born on June 11, 1933, in Mansfield, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by parents, William “Bill” and Maudie Sibley; husband, K. D. Pepmiller; daughter, Susan Tatum; sister, Myrtle Woods; and brothers, Jack Sibley, J. B. Sibley, and William Sibley, Jr.

THOMAS VORACHEK

Thomas Michael Vorachek passed away quietly in his home in DeSoto Parish on August 24th, 2021.

He was born in Flint, Michigan, and moved to DeSoto Parish in 1998. He was retired from General Motors in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He is survived by his Mother Betty Vorachek; Sister Gail Vorachek; Brother; Scott Vorachek; Daughter; Erica Horn, Grandchildren Kali Horn, Karlee

Horn, Kristin Horn, and Katlyn Horn, expected great-grandchild in January 2022.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father Albert Vorachek on September 2, 2019.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4

WAYNE TERRELL “GOATROPER” EVANS

Wayne Terrell Evans, of Logansport, Louisiana rode off into the sunset and sat at the feet of his Heavenly Father at the age of 79 on August 25, 2021, surrounded by his family after a short illness.

He worked in dairies, pipe yards, roofing, plumbing and as a “Big Rig” driver from his early teenage years until he retired 5 years ago. His son, Jimmy Evans took him for his last ride on the “Big Rig” from Mansfield, Louisiana to Logansport, Louisiana on Thursday, August 26th, 2021. His longtime driving partner, John “Lumberjack” Mathis and grandsons, J.R. Brown and Brandon Childress joined the last ride in their “Big Rigs” along with the rest of the family.

MARJORIE HEATH

Marjorie Heath was born on March 20, 1949, to Lloyd F. Heath and Syble Melinda Chambliss Heath of Center, Texas and passed peacefully in her home on August 25, 2021 after a very courageous eightmonth battle of Leukemia. She was a member of Woodsprings Baptist Church and was especially fond of and helped with the mission work that the church supports. The members there will miss her good cakes, banana breads, her kindness, and love that she showed to all especially the children.

Services were conducted at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Wayne Roberts and Bro. Andrew King officiating. Masks were required. Visitation was at 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the services. Graveside services follwed in the Woodsprings community at Woodsprings Baptist Church Cemetery-2093 Woodsprings Road, Logansport, Louisiana.

Betty Pierce Daniels, of Mansfield, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on August 22, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Graveside services honoring her life were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Rev. David Permenter.

Betty was born on October 4, 1936, to Walter David Pierce and Catherine Eddington Pierce.

Preceding Betty in death are her parents, Walter and Catherine Pierce; husband, Robert Forest Daniels; son, Dale Daniels; daughter, Robin McCarty; sisters, Iva Jean Cheatwood, Lynda Palmer; brothers, Billy Jack Pierce, and Don David Pierce.

She is survived by her son, Robert Daniels of Logansport, Louisiana; daughters, Cathy Ammons and husband Douglas of Brunswick, Georgia, Debbie Parker of Mansfield, Louisiana, Rene’ Horton of Harrison, Arkansas; along with 13 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Jimmy Lynn Thomas, 74, of Center, Texas passed away August 19, 2021, suddenly at his home.

Celebration of life service was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 23, 2021, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center, Texas with visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021. Bro. Eric Pledge officiated at the service. Burial was at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana.

Born November 12, 1946, in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana, he is the son of Jack and Gertrude Adams Thomas. Jimmy, better known as Paw, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Paw never met a stranger and everyone he encountered loved him. His smile was contagious. He was selfless, generous, kind, and most of all, he loved unconditionally. He loved his family larger than life and some of his favorite times were spent with them at the beach.

Judy Odelle (Hutchins) Smyth, age 76, of Franklin Park, IL, passed away July 26, 2021, from complications post cancer treatment. She lived 2 more years than doctors gave her, fearlessly fighting it every step of the way, and remained strong until her final breath.

Judy was born in Reno, NV, in August 1944. She was the oldest daughter of June Carnell and Tressie Dee (Hufstetler) Hutchins.

Judy graduated from Grand Cane High School, in Grand Cane LA in 1962.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Paula Bradford, and her husband of 38 years, Leonard C. Smyth.

Judy was a stay-at-home mom for most of her life, then worked for nearly 20 years as an insurance specialist for RH Laird Hospital in Kilgore, TX, before retiring to enjoy lake life in Mineola, TX.

Robin Daniels McCarty was born on July 5, 1964 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Robert Forest Daniels and Betty Pierce Daniels. She entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2021 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Preceding Robin in death are her father, Robert Daniels; brother, Dale Daniels. She leaves behind her husband of 41 years, Robert Dewayne McCarty of Mansfield, Louisiana; mother, Betty Pierce of Logansport, Louisiana; sons, Magnum McCarty of Logansport, Louisiana, Dakota McCarty and wife Elizabeth of Joaquin, Texas; daughter, Megan Johnson and husband Chad of Logansport, Louisiana; sisters, Cathy Ammons and husband Devon of Georgia, Debbie Parker of Lula, Louisiana, Rene’ Horton of Harrison, Arkansas; brother, Robert P. Daniels of Logansport, Louisiana; along with seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to Covid-19 the family will have a memorial service at a later date.
