Funeral services honoring the life of Henry “Clay” Clark, III will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021, located at First Baptist Church Logansport. Officiating the service will be Rev. Shawn Thrapp. Assisting the service will be Rev. Timothy Roberson. A visitation will be held at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow the service located at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana.

Clay was born on October 24, 1949, in Logansport, Louisiana to Henry Clay Clark, Jr. and Audrey Lee Rupe. He entered into eternal rest on June 28, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Clay retired from the DeSoto Parish School System where he taught for 40 years. He also served on the Civil Service Board for DeSoto Parish Fire District 1.

Memorial services honoring the life of Anna Margaret Dunn of Grand Cane, Louisiana will be held in November 2021 at Grand Cane Methodist Church in Grand Cane, Louisiana.

Anna was born on November 25, 1945 in Shreveport, Louisiana to William Joseph Dunn and Eva Maude Odum Dunn. She entered into eternal rest on June 18, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She retired from the Desoto Parish School Board as a Psychologist. She will be remembered for her jokes, fishing, and love of antiques.

Preceding Anna in death are her parents, William and Eva Dunn. She is survived by her sister, Mary (Honey Gal) Odenwelder of Grand Cane, Louisiana; brother, William J. Dunn III and wife Carol of Oxford, Mississippi; nieces, Laura Goff and husband Dave, Molly Dunn, Eva Dunn; nephew, Will Dunn; great-nieces, Mary, Carly, Jaime; and great-nephew, Nick.

James was born on September 20, 1942, in Harnett County, North Carolina to Walter Hubert McLamb and Rosie Peal Barefoot McLamb. He entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving children on June 24, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Interment was held at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana.

Bobby was born on April 5, 1935 in Converse, Louisiana to William Jennings Bryant Smith and Ethel Roberts Smith. She entered into eternal rest on June 18, 2021 in Mansfield, Louisiana. Bobby was a great mother and had good values. She was a hard worker at AT&T in Shreveport, Louisiana for 26 years. She helped everyone and loved to talk to people.

Funeral services for Bonnie Kavanaugh Green were held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Bob Latham and Reverend Donnie Vercher officiating. The visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Interment was held at Grove Hill Cemetery located in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Bonnie was born on November 4, 1940 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Louis Earlton Kavanaugh and Eula Mae Scott Kavanaugh. She entered into rest on Monday, June 14, 2021 in Mansfield, Louisiana. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She worked thirty-three years as a Lab Technician at Pleasant Hill General Hospital and DeSoto Regional Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joseph Kavanaugh; and sister, Ann Rambin.

ARNETTA MCPHEARSON HYAMS

Arnetta McPhearson Hyams passed away peacefully in the wee hours of September 23, 2020 at home in Natchitoches with her eldest son at her side holding her hand.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Louis Fair “Pop” Hyams, Jr., her parents, Fred Collier McPhearson and Claudia Anderson McPhearson of Mansfield, and her step-son L. Fair Hyams III.

She is survived by her son Louis Collier Hyams, his wife Susan Walmsley Hyams, their children, Juliet Claire Marie Hyams and Pierce McPhearson Hyams, her son Jon Claude Hyams, his wife Daune Wilks Hyams, their daughter Jasper Lilith Hyams. Stepsons Mark Henry Hyams, his wife Amy Truscott Hyams, Clark Allan Hyams, his wife Michelle Brooks Hyams, step-daughter-in-law Victoria Tucker Hyams, step-grandchildren, Peter LaLande Hyams, William Henry Hyams, Ila Grace Hyams, and Jackson Price Hyams.

JAMES P. “SONNY”

James P. “Sonny” McAdams, Jr., Alamosa, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on June 6, 2021 at the age of 80. Sonny was born in 1941 at home in a log cabin in Louisiana to James P. McAdams, Sr. and Jewell Murphy McAdams and was the eldest of three siblings.

He passed away after a brief bout of COVID-19 at UC Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs surrounded by his loving family.

Sonny studied music at Louisiana College in Pineville, La and sang opera in several languages. His family used to “tolerate” his operatic singing at the top of his lungs and choir conducting while riding in their Volkswagen Beetle; and going for rides during severe Louisiana thunderstorms.

Funeral services honoring the life of Beverly Ann Mayfield Clark, of Logansport, Louisiana were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Logansport, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Brother Lee McClintock. A visitation was held at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Logansport, Louisiana from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m..

Beverly was born on June 14, 1950 in Lake Providence, Louisiana to William McKinley Mayfield and Doris Rachel Fox Mayfield. She entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2021 in Logansport, Louisiana. Beverly was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church.

Preceding Beverly in death are her parents, William and Doris Mayfield; husband, Wade Clark; son, Tommy Gresham; and brother, Terry Lynn Mayfield.

She is survived by her son, Robert McCauley and wife Lacresia; brother, William Allen Mayfield; niece April Nixon and husband Robert; along with a host of cousins and friends from Logansport Senior Apartments.

SANDRA “SAM” NUNLEY STRONG

Sandra Nunley Strong, 73, of Monroeville died May 23, 2021, at Monroe County Hospital. MS Strong was a native of Logansport, Louisiana. She graduated from Logansport High School and worked several jobs as a bartender, manager in service stations, and restaurants. She was very skilled in her hobbies such as woodworking, mechanical work, baking, and other crafts.

Her passions were her family, collecting Buddha figures, and (all things related), and her pugs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Edith Nunley.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Nunley of Monroeville, Alabama, and two granddaughters, Alexandria Nunley and Jessica Godwin.

Sam’s celebration of life was held at 11:00 A.M. on June 5, at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA, officiated by Michael Joe Byrd.

Graveside services for Doris Williams Gowan were held at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, Louisiana on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with longtime family friend, Brother Toby Shaw officiating.

Doris was born on September 6, 1927 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Homer Neal Garner Sr. and Bessie Thomas Garner. She entered into rest on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Garland O’Neal Williams; brother, Homer N. Garner Jr.; sister, Lucille Garner Hughes. She is survived by her children, Wayne Williams and wife Becky of Mansfield, Louisiana, Debbie Porter and husband Alvin of Kingwood, Texas, Linda Presson and Angela Keene of Shreveport, Louisiana; along with 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
