Dorothea Mae Smith, 90, of Logansport, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on March 20, 2021 in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

A visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, Louisiana on Saturday, April 3, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Graveside services honoring her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Bethel Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Bro. Frankie Mathis.

Dorothea was born on October 20, 1930 in Woodville, Texas to Frank E. Wheeland and Evilene Mills Wheeland. Dot grew up in a sawmill community near Chireno, Texas called Sutton Lumber Company, where her Father was employed. This is where she met the love of her life Floyd.

ALVIN M. “DICK” SHUFORD

Alvin M. “Dick” Shuford passed from this life to the presence of God on March 20, 2021. He was born on March 1, 1945 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to Roy Jefferson and Alma Louise Shuford. His childhood was shaped by the great people of this community who loved him and gave him outlets for his beautiful mind and creative hands. His forever love, Jacqueline Dykes Shuford, committed to a life of great adventures on February 3, 1968. Together they raised three grateful daughters, traveled miles around the world making memories, and enjoyed the blessings of wonderful friends. Those who have shared a cup of coffee on the porch have heard most of the stories a few times. Dick’s favorite pleasures were being with his amazing wife and family, talking to his incredible friends, and solving a problem. Thank you for all who allowed him these pleasures throughout his life. He was a fierce believer in God, freedom, hard-work, and integrity.

Billie Jean Coleman Graham, age 90, of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2021 at her daughter’s home

A graveside service was held on Saturday, March 20, 21 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Stanley, LA. Rev. Tommy McMellon officiated

Mrs. Graham was born September 19, 1931 in Jonesboro, LA to the late Eva Rieson Coleman and Johnny “John” Coleman. She was a homemaker and loved sewing, cooking, gardening, and reading her Bible.

She loved the Lord and loved going to church. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mansfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents Eva and John Coleman, her husband of 58 years, Richard Doyle Graham, Sr., son Richard Doyle Graham, Jr., and her stepfather Denzel Taylor

Scott was co-owner of Eagle Bail Bonds in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Mary Louise Swanson Spann Underwood, aged 95, passed away 3/13/2021 in Little Rock, AR. She was born 1/13/1926 in a small sawmill town, Hicksbaugh, Texas, to Annie Will Robertson Swanson and Benjamin Franklin Swanson. Mary instilled in her children a love of nature. She loved bird watching, hiking, camping, and nature photography. Mary was active in the Sierra Club and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church.

She is survived by her children Henry Thompson “Hank” Spann, Jr., and his wife Sue, Nita Margaret Spann, and Anna Spann Moses, and her husband James; her grandchildren Kate Moses, Valerie Lidona, Annette Spann Barton and her husband Bradley, and Anthony Spann; her great-grandchildren Blake, Brigham, and Bryce Barton; her nephews John Swanson and his wife Pat, William Casey Swanson, and Scott Swanson and his wife Betsy; her niece Fran Swanson Sestak; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Linda Gayle Spears Sebren, 77 years old, of Noble, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, after a hard fought seven-year battle with ovarian cancer.

Funeral services celebrating her life were held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 6, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Zwolle, 2501 Port Arthur Street, Zwolle, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Bro. Jerry Penfield and Bro. Marty Williams. Visitation with the family was on Friday, March 5, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana.

Linda was born on July 18, 1943, to Ellis and Gladys Spears of Mansfield, Louisiana. While growing up in Mansfield, she was involved in numerous organizations and activities where her sweet personality left a lasting impression on those around her. After graduating from Mansfield High School, Linda went on to study at Northwestern State University.

The visitation was held on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment followed at the Union Springs Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Toby Shaw.

Sweet was born on December 14, 1957 in Port Arthur, Texas to Will Roe and Lora Mae Worsham Love. He entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2021, at his home in Converse, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.

Sweet loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved the times spent singing and jamming to music with his buddies, watching LSU sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Sweet was a one-of-a-kind individual, who will truly be missed. He never met a stranger. He would give anyone the shirt off his back. To know Sweet, was to love him.

Loretta McGuirt, 89, of Logansport, Louisiana, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Funeral service were held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 8, 2021, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Bro. Joe Walker officiated. Interment followed at Willow Grove Cemetery in Joaquin.

Born November 26, 1931, in Center, Loretta is the daughter of the late Howard Joe Taylor and Eva S. Stanley Taylor. Her hobbies included reading, gardening, and flowers. Loretta was a member of Logansport Missionary Baptist Church in Logansport, Louisiana.

Graveyard services for Eudie Scott Wadkins were held on February 12, 2021 at 10:30 A.M with Terrell Scott officiating. Mrs. Wadkins passed away on February 10, 2021 at Desoto Regional Hospital. Mrs. Wadkins worked many years at Desoto Regional Hospital as a registered nurse. She was also a former EMT instructor.

Mrs. Wadkins was born on January 21, 1938 in Fryer Texas to Joseph Anderson and Eudie Flanagan Scott. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years Obbie Wadkins and one brother Raymond Scott. .
