CLIFTON DOUGLAS RAMBIN

Clifton Douglas Rambin, born July 31, 1942, in the Rambin Community, made his journey to heaven to be with those that went before him on January 1, 2022 at 1:40 PM. He was surrounded by his loved ones at home including his son Rob, grandson Luke, and dear friend Lauren J. Crawford.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Margie Mae Irby Rambin, his father, Hamdon Samuel Rambin, his mother, Lucy Omease Rambin (nee Walpole), and brother, William Howard Rambin. He is survived by his stepchildren, Rob Veuleman of Valdosta, GA, Danny Veuleman of Frisco, TX, Pam Trammell of Texarkana, TX, Bill Veuleman of Little Rock, AR; his sister Barbara Ann Shaw (nee Rambin) of St Louis, MO; 11 grandchildren and a host of family & friends. Finally, surviving Clifton is his cousin and confidant, Jo Ann Byrd Weaver.

ALTON LLOYD JAMES, SR.

A graveside inurnment service honoring the life of Alton Lloyd James, 90, was held on Monday, December 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, Louisiana. Officiating the service were Pastor David Hazelwood and Pastor Mike Scott.

Alton was born to Robert Lowery James and Elma Louise James on October 25, 1931 in Wesson, Mississippi and entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2021 in Grand Cane, Louisiana.

Alton was a resident of Grand Cane and worked as a manager for the International Paper Company before retiring. He served on the Board of Directors at Progressive National Bank and was a former Chairman of the Board of the Council on Aging. He was in the National Guard and was a Shriner in the Masons. A faithful follower of Christ, Mr. James was a member of Grand Cane Baptist Church.

A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Patricia Faye Richey Cooper, 75, was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Interment followed at Pelican Cemetery in Pelican, Louisiana. Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Officiating the service were Reverend Jonathan McManus and Reverend Ricky Wead.

Patricia was born to Marion Abram Richey and Velmer Morse Richey on August 17th, 1946, in Pelican, Louisiana, and entered into eternal rest on January 2nd, 2022, in Mansfield, Louisiana.

A funeral service honoring the life of Myrna Ann Melton, 81, was held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana. Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Interment followed at Union Springs Cemetery. Officiating the service was Reverend David Permenter.

Myrna was born to Roosevelt Fisher and Nema Fisher on November 10th, 1940 in Converse, Louisiana and entered into eternal rest on December 19, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

THOMAS E. BECK

THOMAS E.

Retired U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Thomas E. Beck died at 2:24 p.m. on December 6, 2021. Part of the Greatest Generation, Thomas E. Beck began his life about a year after the beginning of the Great Depression on November 14, 1929. With most people unemployed and money hard to earn the parents of Thomas E. Beck managed the best they could during the 1930s. Growing up in Miami, Florida Thomas E. Beck went to high school during the Second World War. After earning his GED in 1947, Thomas E. Beck enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves in the same year. Wanting to be a part of the toughest service Thomas E. Beck transferred to the U.S. Marine Corps in 1948. He completed basic training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and became a rifleman in the 1st Marine Division. By this time most of the veterans of the Second World War had left the USMC and teenager boys like Thomas E. Beck replaced these combat veterans of battles like Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and Okinawa.

Carol Joyce Meyers passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday morning, October 25, 2021, in Beaumont, Texas. She joins her parents, her three sisters, and her beloved grandmothers, “Ma” Ola Rogers and Arbie Mahfouz.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas.

Carol was born on February 14, 1943, in Converse, Louisiana, to Helen Rogers and John Hugh “Nima” Mahfouz. She grew up in Hunter and Logansport, Louisiana. Her family moved to West Orange, Texas, in the early 1950s where she graduated high school. She attended the Mims School of Beauty in Port Arthur, Texas. She retired from Dupont Sabine River Works in Orange, Texas, in 2005. Following her retirement, Carol’s life became about service to others, and she was very happy to give of her time to Orange Christian Services and work in the Soup Kitchen at First Presbyterian Church in Orange, Texas.

Sadie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Clio Windham; husband, James Julyn Booker; son, James Gary Booker, MD; grandson, John Gavin Barber; brother, J.C. Windham; sister; Joan Windham.

Ronnie was born on February 26, 1958, in Mansfield, Louisiana to Jessie Vence Ebarb and Elva Norene Melton Ebarb. Ronnie graduated high school from Town & Country High School and received a bachelor’s degree in Business from Louisiana Tech University. He enjoyed working as a Gaming Dealer at Harrah’s/Sam’s Town Casino located in Shreveport, Louisiana. In his free time, you could find Ronnie hunting and fishing or watching Louisiana Tech Girls Basketball.

Funeral services honoring the life of Jerry Lynn McDonald, 69, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Rose-Neath Funeral home in Mansfield, LA, with Reverend Rick McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Union Springs Cemetery with Jimmy Price officiating. The family will receive at Rose-Neath funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021.

Jerry was born in Converse, LA to Rosa Lea Smith and Raybern Vernon McDonald and passed away in Springfield, MO with his daughter by his side. Jerry Lynn was raised in the country in the community of Union Springs, LA near Converse. He learned to hunt and fish from an early age and his favorite was hunting squirrel. At the age of 16 his oldest brother, Robert was killed in action in Vietnam. This had a dramatic effect on his life, and he spent the rest of his life making sure his brother’s memory was honored.
