Graveside services for Annie “Anna” Mae Herring, 95, of Mansfield, LA were held Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. Rev. Toby Shaw officiated the service.

Anna was born to her Syrian immigrant father and Louisiana mother in Mansfield, LA on November 24, 1926. She entered into rest on Monday, April 18, 2022, peacefully at her residence.

Her parents owned a general store, and she spent a comfortable childhood with three sisters. Her only fear during this time was being kidnapped by the gypsies who would visit the store.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Johnny was held at First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana, on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. A visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service was Pastor Dean Register.

On July 12, 1962, in Monroe, Louisiana, Robert John Peterson, Jr., was born to Robert John Peterson, Sr. and Betty Jean Prothro Peterson. On April 16, 2022, God said, “Son, your work on Earth is done” and took him home to heaven where he was reunited with his parents and mother-in-law, Janis Wall, as well as a host of family and friends.

JOSEPHINE “JOSIE” WOODS FORREST

A funeral service for Josephine “Josie” Forrest, 89, of Mansfield, was held Friday, April 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield with family and friends receiving visitors from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 14. Officiating the service was Bro. Frankie Mathis, pastor of Cornerstone Ministries Cowboy Church. Burial followed at Dill Cemetery in Carmel, LA.

She was born December 20, 1932, in Mansfield, to Heflin and Vera Woods, and passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Mansfield Nursing Center.

Josie was married to the love of her life, Emmett Dalton Forrest, of Coushatta, for 47 years, until his passing in 2000. She was one of the sweetest, kindest, and funniest people you could meet. Her smile could light up the room. She loved her Lord and Savior, her husband, kids, grandkids, greatgrandkids, and family with all her heart and it showed.

Graveside services for Myrtis Iva Lee Etheredge Evans, 76, were held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Old Union Cemetery in Converse, Louisiana. Officiating the service was Rev. Jimmy Price.

Myrtis Iva Lee Etheredge Evans was born July 28, 1945, in Mansfield, Louisiana to Coy and Iva Lee (Stewart) Etheredge. She fell in love with the mailman, James Paul Evans, and married him on December 9, 1962. She passed away peacefully on April 3, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana after a brief illness.

Myrtis is survived by her devoted husband, Paul Evans, her children, Bentley Evans, and wife Karen, Becky Evans Smith, and husband Jonathan, and her first cousin she considered her sister, Sue Craig Dupree, her grandchildren, Jacob Evans, Gregg Simmons, Jennifer Simmons Goode, and husband Robby and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Kameron Lynn Durr, 20, of Frierson, Louisiana were held Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Chapel, 943 Polk Street, Mansfield, Louisiana with Rev. Frankie Mathis and Rev. Donnie Durr officiating. Interment followed at Cornerstone Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana. The family received friends for visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Kameron entered into rest on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. He was born on January 2, 2002, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Kristopher and Melinda Harrington Durr.

On October 10, 1931, a tumultuous world was made a little brighter when Hilda McGee Fair was born in Zebulon, North Carolina to the late Wiley and Repsie McGee. She was the 4th of 6 siblings: Elizabeth Wrenn, Dorothy Mattox, Fola Eason, Bobby McGee, and J.L. McGee. Her father died prematurely of a brain tumor when she was just 5 years old. She spent her early years helping her mother carefully grade tobacco leaves before big corporations took over the industry, and also making stacks of peanut butter and crackers to sell to tobacco workers.

Rebecca “Becky” Jean Williams, age 69, went home to Heaven on Friday, March 25, 2022. Becky lived to honor the Lord and serve Him in all facets of her life. Born and raised in Baytown, Texas, to W.A. Read and Helen McFarland Read, Becky grew up as the baby of 4. When she wasn’t trailing her older siblings, she was often tagging along with her dear childhood friend, Marsha Ellis, on family vacations and adventures.

While working as a teacher’s aid in Mont Bellevue, Texas, and towards her degree in education, Becky was introduced to Wayne Williams, through mutual friends. Their courtship blossomed into an engagement and they were blissfully wed on December 16, 1978, in Becky’s home church Central Baptist Church in Baytown.

Services for Kerry Wayne Barton, 74, of Tawakoni, TX will be conducted at Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, March 31, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. Kerry was born April 25, 1947 April 25, 1947 in Alexandria, LA and passed away at his home, March 17, 2022.

Kerry was a graduate of Mansfield High School in Mansfield, studied at LA Tech in Ruston, and joined the US Air Force in 1967. After his 20 year military service he worked for the US Postal Service in Ft. Worth, TX. He was an avid photographer, loved shopping for antiques, traveling and enjoyed the ocean and scuba diving. Kerry never met a stranger; his acquaintance quickly became his friends. He loved spending time with his family, loving on his grandbabies. He spent many hours at the ice skating rink watching, encouraging, and cheering on his daughter Cheyenne as she pursued her passion of ice skating.

EUGENIA TRACHTA MANNING

Eugenia Trachta Manning died early Friday morning, March 18, 2022. She died only 10 days before her 99th birthday. Eugenia was born on March 28, 1923 in Legerwood, North Dakota to Herman and Henrietta Trachta. She died in Mansfield, Louisiana where she was a resident since 1945.

A Rosary and all services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mansfield on Wednesday, March 23 at 11:30 a.m., followed by visitation with the family from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., and the funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow immediately at Carmel Cemetery in Carmel. A reception will be held at St. Joseph’s Fellowship Hall in Mansfield following the burial.

Eugenia was preceded in death by her mother and father, daughter Carol Ann, and grandson Luke Manning.

KIM BRUMMERLOH KENDRICK

Kim Brummerloh Kendrick, age 56, passed away at her home in Carthage, Texas after a brief illness. Funeral services and visitation were held at Roseneath Funeral Home in Mansfield at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2022 with the burial held immediately following at O. E. Price Memorial Cemetery in Logansport. Rev. Dean

Register, pastor of Keachi, Longstreet and Shiloh Methodist Churches, presided over the services. Her brother, Scottie Dale Brummerloh, preceded her in death.

Kim was born on August 25, 1966 in Shreveport to Sherry Sue Glover and Ronald Edwin Brummerloh. She attended Stanley High School and enjoyed being a homemaker and stay at home mom with her children and her dogs. Her past times included playing with her grandchildren, outdoor activities, chatting on social media, and cooking.
