MAYO COBB 11/19/39 – 12/21/22

Mayo Cobb 83, of Mansfield, LA passed away on December 21, 2022 in Shreveport, LA surrounded by family and friends. Visitation was held Tuesday, December 27th at RoseNeath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Services were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 28th at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA with Rev. Toby Shaw officiating. Interment followed at Sloan Cemetery in Mansfield, LA.

Mayo was born November 19, 1939, in Pleasant Hill, LA. He was a legendary cowboy, who loved to work cattle and rodeo. Mayo worked for different ranches over the years and oversaw several individuals’ cattle. He was always willing to lend a helping hand if someone called with a cow out or just needing help. Up until his passing Mayo hauled cattle for Center Livestock, where on sale day you were sure to see him sitting on the bench out front visiting with everyone then, on the front row to watch the sale. He had so many accomplishments in the rodeo world. Known for being one of the best pick up men and inducted in 2001 to the Louisiana Rodeo Cowboys Association Hall of Fame. Mayo was also a calf roper and heeler and won so many different titles and events. He loved to spend time in the roping pen turning out calves. The highlight of Mayo’s life was spending time with his family.

Mayo is preceded in death by his parents Travis and Laney Cobb, sister Millie Anderson, granddaughter Anna Kate Rambin and nephew Rory Anderson He is survived by his wife of 55 years Charlotte Cobb, daughter Tracey Rambin & husband Paul, son Clay Cobb, daughter Lori Slay & husband Michael; sister Janice Litton; Grandchildren Justin Cobb, Chad Rambin & wife Nicole, Chase Rambin, fur grand dog Ziggy Slay; Great grandchildren Jason, Kambri, Haylee & Kace Cobb; arriving in February Colt Rambin; Numerous nieces, nephews and special cousins; & his horse Big Bay & dog Biscuit Honoring Mayo as pallbearers were Justin Cobb, Chad Rambin, Jason Cobb, Chase Rambin, Kasey Anderson, Rodney Cobb, Eric Johnson and Bo Litton. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Leflett, Bubba Locke, Larry Anderson, Riemer Calhoun, Jerry Foshee, Scotty Johnson, Johnny Hickingbottom, Lance Cole, Roland Cross, Scott Gentry, Pete Peters, Robert Griffin, David Griffin, Darrell Paulk, Tim Dement, Ross Hunt, Tony Mack Stewart and Spencer Hamilton.
