Article Image Alt Text

Organizers Joey and Lisa Register have announced that the “Feed a Friend” event will once again return on Saturday, April 6, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on their property in the Bethel Community, at a slightly different location. The Register family is currently constructing a new venue facility, RB4 Event Center, on their Nash Road property and the popular event will be held there.

The Registers invite everyone to join them for food, fellowship and fun as they serve a variety of “good eatin’” while you spend some time together as neighbors. The best part about the whole event is that it is all free! Organizers emphasize it that all you have to do is to come hungry and bring your family, and a friend or two. You may even take a door prize home with you!

African Artifact Collection on Display at Mansfield Main Library

Article Image Alt Text
Article Image Alt Text

Throughout the month of February, the Mansfield Main Library is proudly displaying some of William “Butch” Spencer’s African artifacts. These interesting handcrafted artifacts depict the culture and imagination of its country’s citizens.

Spencer stated, “During my travel adventures on the continent of Africa (see countries below), I have become enchanted with the local people and their handicrafts. These pieces of folk-art have been created and fashioned by individuals with “NO” formal training – using only their creativity and imagination. The items are produced from local and recycled materials to assist, sustain and to provide an income for the family. It is out of necessity that these local people had to learn to address the political and socioeconomic freedoms that they have been “robbed” of.”
