Dr. Arthur Fox, Sr.

Dr. Arthur Fox, Sr. formerly of Mansfield, Louisiana and Joaquin, Texas, a Veteran of the Korean War, died on Veteran’s Day (11/11/14) in Littleton, Colorado. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at  4:00PM at  St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 9293 South University, Highland Ranch in Colorado. His wife, Rev. Dr. Frances Sudds Fox ,and family reside in Colorado. Arrangements were handled through Pitkins Braswell Funeral Home 6601 East Colfax in Denver, Colorado. Funeral services honoring the life of Marlene Dearman were held at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Magnolia Baptist Church in Hunter Community, LA. Interment followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Hunter Community, LA. Visitation was on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel in Mansfield, Louisiana. Marlene was born on February 15, 1935 to her parents Melvin and Juanita Bossier. She is preceded in death by her husband Rayford Elias Dearman; parents Robert Melvin Bossier and Drucie Juanita Smith Bossier. Marlene is survived by her sons, Rayford L. Dearman and wife Jennifer of Converse, Louisiana, Jimmy Dearman and wife Cissy of Hunter, Louisiana; grandchildren, Lindsay Kate Carpenter and husband Clay of Converse, Louisiana, Kristin Leigh Dearman of Hunter, Louisiana, and Robert Dearman of Converse, Louisiana.

funeral service honoring the life of Alice Joy Malmay 64 of Zwolle, LA was held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 11:00am in the Rose-Neath Logansport Chapel. Rev. Jerry Penfield and Rev. Vernon Stephenson officiated. Interment followed in the Joaquin Cemetery. Alice was born in Logan, Texas on June 25, 1950. She entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2014 at Cornerstone Hospital in Bossier City, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents Monroe and Norcel McAllister Dickerson; brother Bobby Joe Dickerson; and son Eddie Dean Malmay. Funeral services honoring the life of Hattie Nelwyn “Nel” Adams, 84, were held at 2:00 PM, November 6, 2014, at Beulah Baptist Church in the Lula Community, with Reverend David Permenter officiating. Burial followed at  Beulah Cemetery. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM. Nel was born in the Lula Community to Claude and Mary Smith Hamilton and went to be with the Lord in Mansfield, LA. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Nel loved spending time with her family. Some of the highlights of her life were playing the piano and working in her rose garden. Riding four wheelers with her family brought her happiness. Faye Myers May

Faye Myers May, 78, of Logansport, Louisiana, passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at her residence. Visitation was held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 pm, Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Logansport. 
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM, Monday November 10, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Logansport, with Rev. Charles Hall and Rev, Lance Cypert officiating, Interment followed in the O. E. Price Memorial Cemetery in Logansport. Ms. May was born July 25, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Hobson Samuel Myers and Miriam Minnie Craine Myers. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First  Baptist Church in Logansport where she also served as a church hostess. Ms. May loved spending time gardening. William Sherman Flores, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., at Grace Presbyterian Church (518 Roselawn Blvd. Lafayette, LA. 70503) for William Sherman Flores, Sr., age 87, who passed early Wednesday morning. Bill Flores was born on January 10, 1927 to Roy and Dorothy Flores in Mansfield, Louisiana. After a robust and bountiful rural childhood, upon his 18th birthday, Bill joined the US Navy to serve on the USS Wasp, Essex Class Aircraft Carrier in the middle of WWII serving primarily in the Pacific theater and later transporting troops home from Europe. After his Navy service, Bill attended Louisiana State University receiving a B.S. in Geology and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana to start his career, initially with Arkla Fuel Company as a Petroleum Geologist. In 1954, Arkla transferred Bill, now married to Jane Caldwell, to Lafayette, Louisiana to participate in the Gulf Coast Oil boom of the 1950's and was a Lafayette resident for almost 60 years.

Funeral services honoring the life of Betty Jane Lister, 78, will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Kilpatrick’s Rose- Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield with Reverend Michael McConnaughey. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Mansfield. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Mansfield on Friday, October 24, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Betty was born in Catuna to Walter and Willie Barber Lewis and passed away in Mansfield. She loved her Lord and reading His word. The highlight of Betty’s life was her family. Betty was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Mansfield and was a retired LPN. Betty enjoyed eating ice cream with her grandchildren. Preceding Betty in death were her husband Billy Lister; sister Maggie and Paula; brother Walter “Bubba”; and her parents. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons Bobby Gene Campbell, Jr.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bobbie Lois Rogers Mannies Hunter were held at 11:30 AM Saturday October 18th 2014 at her church home, First United Methodist Church in Mansfield, LA. The service was officiated by Pastor Kathy Fitzhugh, visitation was the start of service and the internment followed at Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Hunter was born October 20, 1927 in Stamps, Arkansas, to Coburn & Vera Foster Rogers and passed peacefully surrounded by her family on October 15, 2014 in Mansfield, Louisiana where she spent the majority of her life as a resident, wife, mother, grandmother, politician and civic leader, staple in the community, and most recently great grandmother.Bobbie was married to  Wallace Rushing “Peck” Mannies and upon his passing filled his unexpired term in office as DeSoto Parish Tax Assessor, which in turn lead to her running for Tax Assessor and later retiring from public office. Beforeretiring she married Charles C.
