Memorial services celebrating the life of Wai Fong Lei, 79, were held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield, LA. Mrs. Wai Fong Lei was born April 24, 1935 in Zhongshan, China and passed away July 12, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, U Cheok Hon and  parents U Pak Wo and Tam Lin Son. Mrs. Wai Fong Lei is survived by two sons, Lee Kin and Kin Ho Yu; daughter Wan Nan Lee; and grandchildren Jackie Yu, Jessica Yu, Julia Yu, Jordan Yu, Linda Lee, George Lee, Gordan Lee, John Lei, and  Yvonne Lei

Mr. Heard was born May 8, 1953 in Mansfield, LA, to the late Wiley Howard and Sarah Storey Provost Heard and was called to  his Heavenly home July 4, 2014 in

tLucy Lavada Bryant of Logansport went to be with her Lord Saturday, June 28 at the Garden Park Nursing Center in  Shreveport. She was born in Logansport Sept. 24, 1911 to Jimmy and Hettie Curry and passed away at the age of 102 years, 9 months, and 4 days. I do. I was at my desk in Washington, D.C., watching the CSPAN feed of the House floor  debate taking place across the street. At the time I was a legislative staffer for a Texas congressman, and even though it was a Saturday, staffers like me filled the offices throughout Congress to closely monitor this historical debate.

Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, LA. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM; and Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at First Baptist Church in
Logansport, LA from 11:00 AM until time of service. Tiffany was born March 30, 1981 in Beaumont, TX and  assed away June 21, 2014 at her home in Logansport, LA. The love of Tiffany’s life were her children, she enjoyed doing arts and crafts with them. She also enjoyed going four wheeler riding and fishing. Tiffany loved to play and coach softball. One of the highlights in her life was touching the lives of those she coached at Desoto Athletics.

Marie was born in Marthaville, LA, and passed away at her home on Sunday, June 15, 2014. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA. Preceding Marie in death were her husband Alvin Wells;  parents Rufus and Annie Ross Carroll; grandchildren DeLana

Rose Lee Sherman Lyles

A life of love and service ended peacefully after a short illness June 8, 2014, with the passing of Mrs. Rose Lee Sherman Lyles. In her 94 years, Mrs. Rose was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She was steadfast in her faith and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mansfield for over 50 years. She loved art, and was an accomplished painter. She also loved music and practiced
dancercise daily until the age of 93. Raised in rural Brouillette Community near Marksville in a large French and Irish Catholic family, Mrs. Rose moved to  Shreveport at the outbreak of World War II to study nursing at Charity Hospital. There she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse, met and married Wilmar M. “Bill” Lyles, her husband of 63 years. Mr.  Bill, a prominent local cattleman and businessman, passed before her in 2003.
