Services honoring the life of Mr. Herman “Pete” Silas were held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Many Chapel with Rev. Jerry Silas, Pastor Tully Burns, and Pastor Jeff Scroggins officiating with burial following at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. Visitation for Mr. Silas was held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM at Rose-Neath’s Many Chapel. Herman was born June 27, 1939 in Natchitoches Parish, LA to Clara May Procell and Lee James Silas and he entered into rest on January 14, 2020 in Jena, LA.

Memorial services honoring the life of Mrs. Linda Kaye Johnson were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Hunter Magnolia Baptist Church located in the Hunter Community with Rev. Amador Santos and Rev. Steve Walker officiating. Linda was born on July 4, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Henry Earl Brown and Hestell. She entered into rest on January 11, 2020 in Carthage, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry T. Johnson; grandmother, Annie Beatrice Walker and niece, Patricia Lorraine Rogers. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jarrod Earl Johnson and wife Sharol Kay of Logansport, LA and Jason Andrew Johnson and wife Christina of Gary, TX; brothers, Guy Dudley Huckaby of Keithville, LA and Larry Dale Andrews and wife Linda of Hilltop Lake, TX; sisters, Reba Gaye Rogers of Gary, TX and Joyce Mae Pinchera of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren,and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. George Wesley Burr were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Bro. Brandon Goynes and Bro. Dexter Goynes officiating. Family received friends for visitation at the chapel on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment was held at Converse Cemetery in Converse, LA.

George was born on January 15, 1954 in Converse, Louisiana to Gathel Burr and Helen Burr Pugh. He entered into rest on January 7, 2020 in Converse, Louisiana.

GARTHEL LEWIS BURR

Elder Garthel Lewis (G. L.) Burr, age 97, of Converse entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2020. He was known as “Papa” or “Uncle Garthel” to his family and “Bro. Burr” or “Preacher Burr” to his friends. Services were held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield with Bro. Arthur Blevins of Aztec, NM and Bro. Larry Wilson of Oakdale, LA, officiating. Interment was at Lee Cemetery in Mansfield. Visitation was Monday, January 6, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel.

He was born on January 10, 1922 in the Catuna Community and was the patriarch of five generations of family. He was one of sixteen children born to Charles Wesley and Pearlee Ross Burr of Sabine Parish.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Billie Chadwick Webb were held at 11:00 am Friday, December 27, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Rev. Jimmy Price and Rev. Amador Santos officiating. Family received friends for visitation at the chapel on Thursday, December 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment was held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Billie was born on April 14, 1936 in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to William and Cassie Milner. She entered into rest on December 21, 2019 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John R. Chadwick; husband, Otha “Buddy” Webb; son, Stanley Keith Chadwick; daughter, Donna Christine Chadwick Nussman.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. William “Billy” Edwin McElroy, 98, were held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 20, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana with Rev. Joe Waggener and Rev. Weyland Gauntt officiating. Family received friends for visitation at the chapel from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield.

William was born on January 11, 1921 in Oil City, Louisiana to Jake and Ruby McElroy. He entered into rest on December 16, 2019 in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Mr. McElroy was an instructor and navigator who honorably served in the United States Army Air Corps from March 11, 1943 to March 3, 1946. He owned and operated McElroy Electric Company for many years. After retirement from McElroy Electric Company, he became the city of Mansfield’s Electrical Inspector until 2016 at the age of 95.
