Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Sue L. Wiggins, 89, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service, Bro. Thumper Miller and assisted by Bro. Lee Dixon. A visitation was held on Thursday, February 20, 2020 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Mansfield Chapel. Interment at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, Louisiana.

Sue was born on October 10, 1930 in Barton, Arkansas to Robert and Elsie Lederman. She entered into rest on February 17, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Horace Wiggins.

CAROLYN FARLEY PALMER

Services celebrating the life of Carolyn Ann Farley Palmer will be 11 am Thursday, March 5, at First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, LA. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Wednesday, March 4 at Roseneath Funeral Home in Mansfield and one hour prior to the service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Kathy Fitzhugh of First United Methodist Church, assisted by diaconal minister, Mary Jo Babcock, with internment at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Highway 481, Mansfield, Louisiana. Carolyn left this earthly life peacefully at home surrounded by her family, February 29, 2020. Carolyn was born October 2, 1937 in Hico , LA, to Eula Lee and Alton W. Farley. After graduating from Mansfield High School, she attended Centenary College, majoring in education. While at Centenary, she was a member of the beloved Centenary College Choir and continued as a Centenary College and Choir supporter her entire life. A lifelong educator, Carolyn spent 39 years in the DeSoto Parish School System.

NELDA RAMBIN LAFFITTE

Funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Nelda Rambin Laffitte was held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mansfield, Louisiana, with Fr. John Paul Crispin officiating. The Rosary was said for Nelda at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel. The family received friends for visitation following the Rosary until 7:00 p.m.

Nelda was born January 31, 1936 to Richard Hobson Rambin and Emma Lee Dill Rambin. She entered into rest on February 16, 2020 in Shreveport, LA. In memoirs she was writing to her grandchildren she shared stories of growing up in Louisiana during the Great Depression. She recalled her family always having plenty of food but it was raised, grown, slaughtered, smoked and canned by her parents, grandparents and siblings on the land where they lived.

Mr. Lawrence Caston, 87, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 after a sudden illness.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana with Rev. Jerrell Head and Rev. David Permenter officiating. Interment followed at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, Louisiana. A visitation with the family was held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at the funeral home.

Lawrence was born on May 26, 1932 in Oak Grove/Stanley, Louisiana to Lawrence and Berta Corrine Rodgers Caston.

BLAKE MCCULLOUGH

Funeral services honoring the life of Blake McCullough were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Richard Tull officiating.

A visitation with the family was held at the chapel from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment followed at Mansfield Cemetery in Mansfield, LA.

Blake was born on May 23, 1950 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Elvy Orville “Tootsie” McCullough and Bonnie Mae Sibley McCullough. He entered into rest on February 1, 2020 in Longview, Texas.

Blake was a graduate of Mansfield High School Class of 1968; a retired Brick Mason, loved raising Border Collies and gardening; he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his son, John McCullough and wife Christie and grandson, Wade McCullough of Kilgore, TX and his sister, Susie Powell and husband Robert of Shreveport, LA.

HERMAN SILAS

Services honoring the life of Mr. Herman “Pete” Silas were held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Many Chapel with Rev. Jerry Silas, Pastor Tully Burns, and Pastor Jeff Scroggins officiating with burial following at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. Visitation for Mr. Silas was held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM at Rose-Neath’s Many Chapel. Herman was born June 27, 1939 in Natchitoches Parish, LA to Clara May Procell and Lee James Silas and he entered into rest on January 14, 2020 in Jena, LA.
