Services celebrating the life of Wanda Sue Huey Deas, age 70, were held at 10am on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Roseneath Funeral Home, Mansfield, La. Officiating was Rev. Weyland Gauntt and Rev. Bob Latham. The family received friends for visitation on Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 5pm - 7pm at Roseneath Funeral Home Mansfield, La.

Wanda was born September 27, 1948 in Logansport, La and entered into rest, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, June 21, 2019 in Mansfield, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents L.U. and Doris Huey, daughter Sonya Shaw, sister Sissy Kelly, brother Marvin Huey, brother-in-law Don Stephens and step-son Andy Chauvin.

Margaret was born on December 24, 1949 in Crowley, Louisiana to Rogers Barousse Hornsby and Inez MacKool. She entered into rest on June 18, 2019 in Logansport, Louisiana. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers Hornsby of Mansfield, Louisiana; and in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Caraway Averett of Logansport, Louisiana.

Buford was born on December 15, 1932 in DeSoto Parish, LA to Walter Lee Rascoe and Mae Terrell. He entered into rest on June 14, 2019. Buford was preceded in death by his parents; a special sister, Nelwyn Davis; brothers, Carroll Rascoe, Lamar Rascoe, and Wallace Truitt Rascoe; and a special nephew, Troy Rascoe.

Robert was born December 24, 1941 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Robert and Evelyn Vandiver and entered into rest on June 14, 2019 in Mansfield, Louisiana. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gayle Vandiver; parents; and sisters, Donita Cook and Barbara Farris.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son, Clint Vandiver; daughter, Brooke Vandiver & husband, Jonathan Romero; daughter, Bernadette Vandiver; grandchildren, Gabby Cavanaugh Vandiver, Malaina Vandiver, Kaia Vandiver, Kendall Vandiver, Kohlston Vandiver, Elisha Romero, Sami Romero, Dovie Romero, and Everly Grace Vandiver.

Memorial Services honoring the life of Angela Moton Gooden were held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, at the Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel with Reverend Amador Santos officiating. The family received friends for visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Angela was born July 15, 1971 in Mansfield, LA to Roy O’Neal Moton and Darla Ann Flores-Turner and she entered into rest on June 4, 2019. Angela was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe and Joyce Flores and Leroy and Imogene Moton; cousins, Rachel Moton and Christopher Banks.

Angela retired from DeSoto Parish School System after more than 23 years of teaching. She loved and was loved by her students and was a talented, exceptional teacher. After retirement, Angela devoted herself to her numerous animals- dogs, goats, pigs, and chickens. She had a love for nature and all animals. Her love and support will be greatly missed by her family.

CAROLYN RIVES LOWRY LLOYD

On May 25, 2019, Carolyn Rives Lowry Lloyd shrugged off her earthly body like an old coat and stepped into the arms of Jesus. She was 93 years old.

Carolyn was born to Albert Martin Rives II and Thelma Gladys Sanders Rives on June 28, 1925 in Mansfield, Louisiana. She was the youngest of three. Her siblings were Thelma Sanders Rives and Albert Martin Rives III. Her father was a dairy farmer, first in Mansfield and later in Grand Cane Louisiana.

Faye Taylor Yates Ashley, age 89, of Joaquin, Texas passed away on Saturday May 18, 2019. She was born April 23, 1930 in Joaquin, Texas to Jim Crawford Taylor and Mary Jane Daniels Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Mary L. Yates; great granddaughter, Stormy Lynn Felps Elliott; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a good friend Carole Marcotte. She is preceded in death by two husbands, James Yates and Phillip Ashley; grandson, James David Yates; her parents; sisters, Clister Brown, Annie Emmons, Lela Godwin, and Rosaline Youngblood; and brothers, Orlen Taylor, J.C. Taylor, her twin Ray Taylor, Doyl Taylor, Chester Taylor and Kurnal Taylor. She will be deeply missed.

Kody K. Gage, age 36, of Mansfield, La., passed away on May 22, 2019, to his home in Gloryland, He is preceeded in death by his grandparents: Kenneth Karl Gage, Opal Claire Turner Gage, Price Hewitt Gallaspy and Marie Weeks Gallaspy. He is survived by his loving parents: Kelvin Kent Gage and Linda Gail Gallaspy Gage of Mansfield, La. One sister: Stacy Marie Gage Rivers and her husband Patrick Brian Rivers of Converse, La., Nieces and Nephews: Tyler Patrick Gage, Patrick Brian Rivers Jr., Britny Marie Rivers, Haley Nicole Rivers of Converse, La., Great Nephews: Conor Avery Parker, and Rorin Kai Gage of Converse, La., and a host of many close relatives and dear friends.

No one who met Kody Kent Gage could ever forget his infectious, vivid passion for telling crazy stories and acting them out with motions and telling his jokes for a fun-filled time of laughter and smiles.

Burial followed at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Many, LA. The family received friends at the school for visitation on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Rusty was born October 30, 1973 in Shreveport, LA to Jack Evan Canton Jr. and Judith Gayle Hennigan Canton and entered into rest on May 16, 2019. Rusty was the Fire Chief of Desoto District One and served 21 years for Shreveport Fire Department. He was a hard worker, a loving husband and father, and a mentor to many.
