Mrs. Adell Sims Scott was a quintessential Educator having been an iconic classroom instructor in DeSoto Parish School System. She worked for more than three decades molding the minds of children in the Elementary grades.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Grambling College (today Grambling State University) and her Master’s Degree from Northwestern State University. She was a connoisseur of education.

This soft-spoken gentle spirited lady was born March 27, 1927 in the Ajax, La community to the late Mrs. Johnny Sims, Sr. and Mrs. Malissa Stewart Sims. She was the oldest of (6) children. God in his Infinite Providence gently moved her from time on April 15, 2020 at her Many, La. residence to eternity. The Creator whispered, “Come home my child your work is done”.

Mrs. Scott was married to the late Mrs. Charlie Scott Jr. for 54 years. Her marriage brought her to relocate to Mansfield, La. with her husband where they resided until their bond was broken at his death. During her life in Mansfield she often visited the St John Baptist Church and the Wesley United Methodist Church.

Her spiritual journey began with a Fireside Training as a young person that was reared in a devout Christian home. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized as a member of the KDSA Chapel United Methodist Church in Ajax community. This soldier of God’s army remained faithful and active in her home, church until God said “Well Done”.
