Funeral services for Larry “Snuffy” Smith, 69, of Logansport were 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Logansport. The Rev. Frankie Mathis, pastor of the Cornerstone Cowboy Church in Logansport, officiated. The burial followed in the Bethel Cemetery in Logansport. The family received friends for visitation, Friday, August 17, 2018 from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport. Larry was the son of the Floyd Smith and Dorothea Wheeland Smith, he was born September 21, 1948 in San Augustine, TX and passed away August 16, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his father, and his brother, Kenneth Floyd Smith. Larry worked in the poultry industry in all aspects. He was a friend to many and was always willing to help someone out. He loved his family, LSU football, hunting, and fishing. He will be truly missed by many.

Funeral services honoring the life of Mildred Jo Ashton Magness, 94, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Rose- Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Logansport, LA. Rev. Charles Hall and Rev. Shawn Thrapp officiated, the burial followed at the O. E. Price Cemetery in Logansport. Friends visited from 6 pm until 8 pm, Thursday, August 16th at the Rose-Neath Chapel in Logansport. Mildred Jo Ashton Magness was born in Logansport, Louisiana on October 28, 1923. The youngest of four children, Mildred was raised in Desoto parish and is a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Logansport. After graduation from high school, she worked as a book keeper for the Haslam, TX, Lumber Company. Mildred worked at several businesses as office manager and chief book keeper with her final employment at the Shelby- Panola Savings and Loan in Carthage, TX. She retired in 1988. Mildred married Murry F. Magness in 1946.

The burial followed in the Adams Cemetery in Logan, Texas. The family received friends for visitation on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport. Jimmy, the son of Nolan and Joyce Bull, was born October 18, 1951 in Alice, Texas. He passed away on August 18, 2018 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jimmy was a machinist by trade, but his favorite job was that of volunteer fireman for the Flatwoods Volunteer Fire Department in Panola County, Texas.

Memorial services honoring the life of Doris “Sissy” Shelton, 56, were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA with Rev. Bob Latham and Rev. Kenneth Leach officiated. The family received friends at First Baptist Church of Mansfield on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Sissy was born November 18, 1961, in Monroe, LA to Joseph and Lois Faye Vining and passed away on July 28, 2018, at her residence in Many, LA. Preceding Sissy in death were her parents. Those left behind to cherish her memory is her husband of 39 years, Robert “Bobby” Shelton, Jr.; son, Trey Shelton and wife Kellie; daughter, Joanna Duncan and husband Chris; sister, Donna Posey; brother, Albert Vining; and grandchildren, Bocephus, Krysta, Hunter and Adalyn.
