Mansfield Drops Homecoming Contest To North Webster

Excitement was in the air in Mansfield this past Thursday night at the Wolverines played host to the North Webster Knights. It was Homecoming 2015 against a District 1-3A opponent and it was being televised on national TV on ESPNU. Running Back/Linebacker Devin White of North Webster is one of the top college recruits in the state.

Logansport Drops Game To St Mary 42-12

The Logansport Tigers played host to the number 1 ranked and undefeated St Mary’s Tigers last week. Logansport came into the game with a 3-3 record while St Mary’s fell to 1-1 in District 3-1A play. This week the Tigers will celebrate homecoming. The opponent for the homecoming game will be the LaSalle Tigers. LaSalle comes into the game with a 5-2 record.

Wolverines Fall To Green Oaks In 4 Overtimes

The Mansfield Wolverines took the Green Oaks Giants to 4 overtimes before falling 30-24. With the loss, the Wolverines fell to 0-7 on the season. The game was the first District 1-3A contest for Mansfield. Next up for the Wolverines in a visit from district co-leader, the North Webster Knights.

Griffins Rebound To Take Victory Over Woodlawn

After their loss to Benton last week, the North DeSoto Griffins fell to Number 8 in the Class 4A State rankings. This week the Griffins played host to the Woodlawn Knight in a District match up. Woodlawn back Trivensky Mosley came in to the game with almost 900 yards and 15 touchdowns on the season. Mosley found the going much tougher against the stout Griffins defense who held him to 12 yards on 11 carries.

Tigers Have Record Night Against Gators

Friday night against the Northwood-Lena Gators, Tiger Senior Kameron Chatman found his way in the school record book. With a 9 yard reception from quarterback Dalton Shaw, Chatman took over 1st place on the all time reception list with 99 catches. The previous record holder was Jamarius Hewitt with 98 catches from 2004 to 2006. He currently ranks 4th on the receiving yardage list with 1408 yards and needs 198 more to take over 1st place.

Tigers Defeat Wolverines 28-14 in Parish Match-Up

It was the 60th meeting between the Logansport Tigers and the Mansfield Wolverines this past Friday night. Logansport had not defeated Mansfield on their home turf since 1973, a total of 42 years. This year’s version of the Tigers were out to end the misery. Debell Crawford playing in his first game in the rivalry rushed for rushed 23 times for a total of 186 yards. With the win the Tigers improved the record to 2 wins and 3 losses. This week the Tigers begin district 3-1A play when they host the Northwood-Lena Gators.

Wolverines Fall to Tigers 28-14

The Mansfield Wolverines dropped their 5th game of the season this past Friday night when they fell to Logansport 28-14 in a non-district match-up. This was the 60th meeting between the two teams. The loss at Logansport was the first time the Wolverines fell at Logansport since 1973, a span of 42 years. With the loss the Wolverines saw their record fall to 05 on the season. This week the wolverines travel to Bossier City to take on Airline.

Logansport Falls In South Louisiana Battle

Logansport traveled to South Louisiana to take on the Basile Bearcats this past Friday night. Basile came away with the 26-18 win. Once again the Tigers fell victim to one sided officiating, being flagged 12 times for 87 yards, while Basile was only flagged 2 times for 10 yards. For the fourth time this season the Tigers won the statistical battle, 322 yards to 312, only to come up short on the scoreboard. With the loss the Tigers fall to 1-3 on the season. This week the Tigers begin a 4 week home stand with a game against parish rival Mansfield. Basile took the opening kickoff and drove 60 yards in 8 plays to take an early 6-0 lead. With Logansport driving on their first possession, they were bitten by the turnover bug as they fumbled the ball away at the Basile 11 yard line.

Logansport Falls 35-34 in Overtime to Bossier

The Class 4A Bossier Bearcats rolled into town to take on the Class 1A Logansport Tigers and left with an 35-34 overtime win. The game was a back and forth affair as neither team was able to lead by more than 8 points during the game.
