Toss Up or Better

We do now find ourselves in the dead period that follows the regular season’s end and precedes the calmination of the bowl games that constitute the new College Football Bowl Series. Unlike many of the seasons before this year of 2015 college football has left us with (4) clear finalists with which the powers that be have at their disposal and eerily not (1) single major college football program in this country has even slightly suggested that perhaps they themselves should have been allowed, the opportunity to play for this years’ NCAA College Football National Championship.

Billy Cannon to Hold Book Signing at LA Sports Hall of Fame Museum

The legendary Billy Cannon, to date the only LSU football player to win the coveted Heisman Trophy, will be the featured guest Saturday, December 12, from noon to 3:00 PM, at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum for a book signing and question and answer session open free of charge.

Logansport Headed To Quarterfinals

The Logansport Tigers are headed to the Quarterfinals of the Class A State playoffs for the first time since 2003. The Tigers earned the trip with a 36-0 defeat of the Elton Indians. With the shutout, the Tigers have now shut out both of their playoff opponents for the first time in school history.

Michael Rambin Brings Down 8-Point Deer; Enters Pelican Library’s Big Buck Contest

Congratulations to Michael Rambin, 13, of Shreveport, for killing this huge 8-point on November 14! This is Michael's first buck and he killed it with a .30-30 in the Rambin community. Tigers Claim First Round Victory Over Hurricanes 59-0

Logansport came storming out of the gates to open the Class 1ª playoffs with a 59-0 win over the visiting North Central Hurricanes. The 59 points set the school record for most points scored in a playoff game. The previous record was set in 1993, with a 58-7 win over Merryville. The Tigers were able to score in each quarter with 19 in the first, 27 in the second, 7 in the third and 6 in the fourth.

Griffins Move On To Second Round After 43-14 Win

The North DeSoto Griffins opened the Class 4A playoffs with a dominating 43-14 win over the visiting St Martinville Tigers. With the win, the Griffins move on to the second round and will travel to Loranger for the next round. North DeSoto improved to 9-2 on the season. The Griffins rolled up 405 yards of offense and limiting the Tigers to 125 total and minus 19 rushing.

Tigers Wrapup Second Place In District 3-1A

The Logansport Tigers wrapped up 2nd place in District 3-1A with a 26-8 victory over the Montgomery Tigers Thursday night. The Tiger line, Carlton McCoy, Langston Murray, John Stephenson, Bobby Bounds and Trenton Canton cleared the way for the offense to roll up 390 yards while the defense limited Montgomery to 152 yards. The win gives the Tigers a 6-4 overall record and a 4-1 record in District play. The Tigers came into the game ranked number 8 in the Power Rankings for the Class A playoffs. They will find out Sunday about their Playoff opponents.
