Logansport FFA Visits Frymaster- Manitowic Food Service Facility

The Logansport High School FFA is kicking off the new 2016- 2017 school year with some exciting events. On Tuesday, September 13, 2016 our club visited Frymaster/ Manitowoc Foodservice to learn about their products and take an inside look into the another job option. The administration broke down the company piece by piece to thoroughly show us a day in the life of their average employee in the factory.

Tigers Defeat The Gators 52-8

The Logansport Tigers improved to 2-0 on the season with a 52-6 win over the Lakeview Gators. The victory is the second consecutive over a Class 2A opponent. This week the Tigers travel to Bossier to take on the Class 4A Bossier Bearkats. The Tiger defense was able to force 5 Gator turnovers, while the offence once again did not commit a turnover. The tone of the game was set on Logansport’s first offensive play. Braylen Wilson took a shovel pass from Dalton Shaw and raced 61 yards for the first Tiger touchdown.

Logansport Tigers Claim Season Opening Win 33-12

The Logansport Tigers kicked off the 2016 season with a convincing 33-12 win over the visiting North Caddo Rebels. The win by the Tigers avenged the season opening loss to the Rebels last season. Logansport started out fast with 21 points in the 1st quarter and followed up with a touchdown in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. North Caddo put points on the board in the 2nd and 4ht quarters.

Mansfield All-Stars Finish Season 12-0

The Mansfield All-Stars finished their season with a 12-0 winning record. The group of nine and ten year old boys started competing in the SPAR Basketball League in Shreveport in 2014 and are coached by husband and wife team, Lakandra Ross-Shannon and Antonio Shannon. Players are Sharmal Booker Jr., Jordan Milton, Antonio Shannon Jr., Antoine Shannon, Devin Booker, Terrance Pegues Jr., Zacheriah Scott, LeBroderick Mayweather Jr., and LaKeitrick Robinson. Mansfield All-Stars nine and ten year olds won their last game over the Calvary Cavaliers 26 – 22.

DeSoto Football Jamboree to Honor Law Enforcement

The annual DeSoto Parish Football Jamboree is set for this Friday, August 26th. As part of the district’s community outreach of DeSoto Serves, the jamboree will also honor local law enforcement officers. Prior to kickoff, law enforcement from all parish agencies will receive a complimentary meal during tailgate activities. Additionally, law enforcement will receive free jamboree admission and be honored on the field between the 2nd and 3rd games.

Mike Green to Lead Mansfield Wolverine Football

A new and exciting era of Wolverine football is set to begin in Mansfield. After finishing the 2015 campaign with a record of 0-10, hopes are high for a turnaround in the program. Key to the improvement is the drive, experience, and structure of newlyappointed Head Coach Mike Green. A seasoned football man, Green brings the demeanor and tools needed for a successful high school program.
