Northwest Louisiana Technical College Mansfield Campus held their advisory committee meeting on March 22. The meeting gave local industry workers who advise the college on industrial hiring needs the opportunity to see the college’s recent progress.

During the meeting, representatives from local industries reviewed NWLTC’s program and discussed industry needs with administration and students. Through the meeting, administration was able to find out what areas of the curriculum they need to change to evolve with the ever changing industry.

DeSoto Parish Police Jury and other involved entities have taken a recent interest in tightening the security at the DeSoto Parish Courthouse.

Parish Administrator Steve Brown is currently working on a courthouse security report that will assess the courthouse’s security and address its issues. The report will also budget a grant Police Jury received for cameras at the courthouse. The report should be finished by May at the latest.

Logansport High School’s softball team played a home game against Doyline on Feb. 28.  Logansport won 10-0. 

Logansport had 11 hits during the game.

Wow! What a game! The Wolverines hung with the higher seeded Avoyelles Charter team the entire game, but the Wolverines could not pull out the win. It was close the entire game! Excellent season for the entire game, but the Wolverines could not pull out he wine. It was cloe the entire game! Excellent season for the team and coaches.
