On Friday the 13th, the Wolverine Football Team traveled to Springhill to play the North Webster Knights. The game turned out to be very unlucky for the North Webster team, as the MHS Wolverines soundly defeated them in a district contest by a score of 46 - 20.

The Mansfield Wolverines soundly defeated district foe Bossier in a 52 - 22 Homecoming game Friday, November 6.

It was homecoming in Stonewall. With all the COVID restrictions this season, it was good to have a little bit of normalcy back. The Griffins got some good news as well. Finding out Northwood had to forfeit their first two games of the season because of a violation, that meant North DeSoto had a win back and jumped up in the 4A rankings. This changes the Griffins whole season and gave them a ton of motivation. With Evangel coming for Homecoming, North DeSoto looked to keep the momentum going.

This month, high school seniors will begin checking off one of the to-do’s on their senior checklist - completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is the application for federal, state and institutional aid and is available on Oct. 1 each year. Today, the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) is launching its FAFSANow Pilot initiative, in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Education, and urging the Class of 2021 to complete their FAFSA early, by Feb. 1, 2021.

To date, 40 Louisiana schools have registered to participate in LOSFA’s FAFSA Now Pilot campaign to encourage their seniors to complete the FAFSA by Feb. 1.

The Logansport Tigers, returning to the field after a 2 week unwanted break, celebrated Homecoming 2020 with a 40- shutout of the Block Bears. The win improved the Tigers to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in District play. Key’salvan Barnes led the way with 214 yards rushing on 15 carries with 3 touchdowns. This week the Tigers host the Montgomery Tigers on Friday night at 7:00.

After an out of state game last week, the Griffins were excited to be back at home for the game this week. With all of the uncertainty Covid has brought this season, the Griffins decided to celebrate Senior Night early. With a slow start to the season, they were hoping to get their first win for their seniors.
