Griffins Celebrate on Homecoming

By most standards a homecoming game on the second week of the season is a oddity but with only 4 home games on the schedule this year North DeSoto was left with limited options for the evening. The week 2 opponent this year just so happen to be in parish rival Mansfield. The Griffins made sure that the big crowd for homecoming went home smiling with a 30-12 win over their rivals

North DeSoto Picks Up Win Over Natty

For the first time in four tries over the past few years against the 5A Natchitoches Central Chiefs, the North DeSoto Griffins were victorious and in turn start the season 1-0 for the first time since the 2012 season.  The Griffins brought an entire team effort to Turpin Stadium on the campus of Northwestern St last Friday scoring on offense, defense and special teams during the game

NRA Foundation Provides Funds to Two Local Shooting Sports Organizations

Two local youth Shooting Sports organizations receive grant funds from the NRA Foundation. DeSoto Parish 4-H Shooting Sports and the DeSoto Youth Sportsman Team both received funds that enabled the purchase of new equipment and supplies for the youth of DeSoto parish to learn to safely hone their shooting skills

Coach Kevin Magee Comes Full Circle as He Returns to LHS as Head Football Coach

The year 1995 is a fond memory for the citizens of Logansport as they recall the Logansport Tiger’s 33-32 victory over the Mangham Dragons at the Class A State Championship game that was held in the New Orleans Superdome. The December triumph was indeed an early Christmas gift to the entire community, with the sidewalks rolled up while everyone was there to cheer for the Tigers. Kevin Magee, who was the Tiger’s young
quarterback, soon became known as the “Sophomore Sensation” to all the area news media.

10U AAA Team to Represent Louisiana at Dixie World Series includes North DeSoto Athletes

An All-Star team comprised of several area teams have been named the number 1 Louisiana 10U AAA team, and will represent Louisiana in the Dixie World Series in Lexington, South Carolina. The competition will be held from August 8 through August 14 at the Lexington Sports Complex, which is located at 507 Ballpark Road
