Lady Tigers Win Virtual State Championship

In January when softball season officially started, no one would have ever thought that the spring sports season would have been cut short by a global pandemic. The Logansport Lady Tigers comprised of 7 seniors, 3 juniors, 1 sophomore, 3 freshmen, 3 eighth graders and 3 coaches were more than a team, they were a family, with 1 goal in mind - a repeat trip to the state semifinals and a trip to the championship game for the first time in school history.

When the season was postponed on March 16th the Lady Tigers were 10-0 and poised to make a run at what was set to be a recordbreaking season in multiple categories not to mention an appearance in the state championship. They had gotten key wins over Claiborne Christian, Lakeside, North DeSoto, Stanley and St. Mary. With hope of getting to play again, the Lady Tigers continued to work on their own and were ready to go when called back. Head Coach Kyle Creech said of his team, “This group of girls had 7 seniors and they have really matured the last few years. Although the season was cut short, I am proud of the success we had in 10 games.
