Logansport, LA – Funeral services honoring the life of Harry VonSenden, Jr., 73, were at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA wh ere Rev. Tommy McMellon officiated. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 6:00 till 9:00 PM. Harry was born on September 6, 1943 in Sinton, TX to Eula and Harry VonSenden, Sr. and entered into rest on February 25, 2017 in Logansport, LA. Harry was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Preceding Harry in death were his parents Eula and Harry VonSenden, Sr.

Deacon Harris James Green (Harry) was born on July 15, 1951 to the late Ms. Lurlean Green. He was second of five boys. Harris accepted Christ and was baptized at Moore’s Chapel Baptist Church at the age of eight years old under the pastorage of the great Rev. G.D. Jackson. Harris served as a faithful member for 52 years where he served as a member of the Trustee Board and Chairman of the Deacon Board over 15 years. Harris loved his church and served in many capacities including grounds keeper. Harris organized the Gospel Clouds and they sung for fifteen years. Harris attended DeSoto Parish School and was a champion baseball player. Harris was married for 41 years to Mary Linda Jones and kept their marriage vows sacred for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and health, until death did them part. He was a great and wonderful husband and father.

The family received friends at the Spring Ridge Baptist Church on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 5:00 till 10:00 PM. Sarah was born on July 23, 1929 to Samuel and Alice Cooper and entered into rest on February 19, 2017 in Mansfield, LA. Sarah was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. Preceding Sarah in death were her husband, John “Jack” Sims; parents, Samuel and Alice Cooper; sons, J.W. Hammonds, Robert Sims; and grandchildren, Loretta Lynn Hammonds and Jimmy Wayne Sims.

The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 5:00 till 9:00 PM. Lester was born on August 27, 1926 in Desoto Parish, LA to George and Annice Barber and entered into rest on February 19, 20174 in Center, TX. Lester was a loving father and grandfather. Preceding Lester in death were his parents, George and Annice Barber. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son Shane Barber and wife Candi of Center, TX; daughter, Lynn Barber; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

The family received friends at Jenkins Funeral Home from 6-7pm on Friday, Feb 10th. Reverend Roy R Jones was born, May 3, 1949 James H Jones, Sr and Bettie Lee Jones. He entered into eternal rest on Tues, Feb 7. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. Preceding him in death was his mother, Bettie Lee Jones.

Claude was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. “Doc” was one of the founders of Pat’s Pitched Out Pets, former pastor of Kingston Baptist Church in Frierson, LA, pastor at His House of Praise, former manager at Ivey Lumber Co. in Mansfield, LA, and a former disc jockey @ KJVC 92.7 FM in Mansfield, LA. Preceding Claude in death were his parents, Robert and Claudine Lowery.

Johnny was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Preceding John in death were his wife of 45 years Patricia Ann Herring; parents, John Sr. and Jewella Cooper; sisters, Sarah Patricia Chandler and Linda Frances Luce. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his son Brett Cooper and wife Melanie of Mansfield, LA; daughters, Christi Cooper Taber and husband William Charles of Logansport, LA, Julie Cooper Hall and husband Jeff of Farmerville, LA; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
