Funeral services honoring the life of Elnora Lee, 90, was at 2:00 PM Monday, August 15, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Mel Campbell officiating. Burial was followed at Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, LA. Visitation was Monday, August 15, 2016 from 12:00 PM till the time of service. Elnora was born on June 29, 1926 in Mansfield, LA to Will and Ivy Renois and died on August 12, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. Preceding Elnora in death were her husband, Henry T. Lee; parents Will and Ivy Renois; sisters, Willie Mae Renois, Jewel B. Prudhome, Rhydonia Decker, Gladys Demmon; brothers, Versie Renois, and Vertis “Buddy”Renois. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sisters Mildred Robinson of Flower Mound, TX, Dorette Bartlett of Shreveport, LA, and Dorothy Price pf Ruston, Louisiana.

Jack Mims

Jack Mims was born on May 24, 1941 in Heflin and passed away at home in Converse, LA, on July 26, 2016. Jack was raised from the age of 9 till graduation from Ruston High at the Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston, LA. After High School he attended Hines Jr. College in Vicksburg, MS, and then LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. He graduated from LSU with a degree in Forestry and a Masters in Statistics. He was proud of being in the honor society, Gamma Sigma Delta while at LSU. Jack went to work for Proctor and Gamble in Perry, FL, out of college. In 1973, he moved to Mansfield and went into the timber business for himself. He operated Mims Timber with logging and timber buying for many years, and built Mims Lumber Co. Jack’s most loved planning his next “Event”. Whether it was visiting children and grandchildren in Ruston and South Carolina, or cooking the next meal for Alex when she came or whomever he was with.

John Earle Blanchard

John Earle Blanchard was born January 16, 1922, to Charles Ford and Mattie Peyton Blanchard, Epps, LA. He died July 15, 2016 at Willis Knighton Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ferguson Blanchard, an infant son, his parents and 12 brothers and sisters. John graduated from Epps High School in 1939, attended LSU and was campus editor of university newspaper, The Reveille, member Lambda Chi Alpha; graduated with BA in Journalism, entered U.S. Navy, served until 1946. He married Mary Ferguson in 1948.

Services for Vera Mae “Beanus” Shahan were held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA. Interment followed at Reeves Cemetery in Logan, TX. Officiating the service was Reverend Joe Walker and Reverend Steven Hall. Visitation was Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA from 6:00-8:00 PM. Vera was born on May 29, 1926 in High Island, TX to Casey and Mable Sullivan and passed away on July 12, 2016 in Logansport, LA. Vera was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Vera was also a homemaker, loved cooking and quilting. Her children were the love of her life. Preceding Vera in death was her husband, H.B. Buster Shahan; parents Casey and Mable Sullivan; son, Clinton Lewis Shahan; grandson, Little Buster Shahan; son-in-law, Freddie Paul David; brothers, Sidney Sullivan, Robert Sullivan, Henry Sullivan, Douglas Sullivan; sisters, Eunice Edgar, and Tinicy Garmmier.

Funeral services honoring the life of Barbara Love, 86, were at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Union Springs Baptist Church in Converse, LA where Reverend Dick Enterkin officiated. Burial followed at Union Springs Cemetery in Converse, LA. The family received friends at Union Springs Baptist Church, Friday, July 8, 2016 from 5:00 till 9:00 PM. Barbara was born on June 25, 1930 in Fouke, AR to Dudley and Ina Schanfish and passed away on July 6, 2016 in Shreveport, LA. Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, Dudley and Ina Schanfish; husband, Charles Robert “Jiggs” Love; sister, Pauline Schanfish Woodell; brother, W.H. Schanfish; grandsons, Billy Love, and little Bob Procell.
