Billye Faye Cook Herring

Funeral services for Billye Faye Cook Herring, 87, of Farmerville were held at 1:00pm, Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kurt Auger and Rev. Dave Permenter officiating. Burial followed in Grand Cane Cemetery in Grand Cane, La. under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. Billye Faye Cook Herring was born December 14, 1929 in Grand Cane, La. and went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 4, 2017, surrounded by family and friends in Farmerville, La. She graduated from Grand Cane High School and attended L.S.U. from 1946 to 1948. On November 11, 1950, she married the love of her life, Alfred “Bo” Herring. Shortly afterwards, she followed him to Honolulu, HI., where he was stationed in the U.S. Navy. They came back to Louisiana where daughter, Susan, was born in 1957 while Bo attended Louisiana College in Pineville. In 1961, son Craig was born while Bo was coaching in Springhill.

Roxane Renois Borne

Roxane Renois Borne, 54, was born July 6th, 1962, and passed away July 2nd, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native and resident of Golden Meadow, La. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Roxane took place on Thursday July 6th, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Lighthouse Worship Center in Galliano, Louisiana. Following immediately after the funeral, Roxane’s was laid to rest at Cheramie’s Cemetery in Galliano, La. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Deryl P. Borne; her daughter Alaina Borne Demere (Kory); her parents Emmett and Enola Renois; her sister Terri Renois Callais (Tim); and her nieces Madeline and Ellen Callais. She was preceded in death by her brother, Aaron Scott Renois; her paternal grandparents, Emmett and Alice Renois; and her maternal grandparents, Nelson and Leonia Callais. Arrangements were made by Falgout Funeral Home in Gallaino, La.

Shirley Faye Bailes

Shirley Faye Bailes, 78, of Mansfield, LA, was born on April 2, 1939 to Tom and Callie Knippers and entered into rest on June 28, 2017, in Mansfield Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Bailes; sons, Lance Bailes and Clyde T. “Buzzy” Moran. She is survived by daughter Debby Pounds, extended family and many friends. Mrs. Bailes was a long time member of Southside Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA. A time of visitation was held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA, from 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM Saturday, July 1, 2017. Graveside rites followed at 11:15 AM at Beulah Cemetery in Ajax, LA with Rev. Larry Pridmore officiating. Honoring the life of Shirley as pallbearers were Kenneth Hughes, Wayne Williams, Kenneth Lee, Wayne Hooper and Jack Guy. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to DeSoto 4-H Club, 10117 Hwy 171, Grand Cane, LA, 71032; or LA Baptist Children’s Home, P.O. John was born on April 3, 1953 in Lake Charles, LA to Amose and Alma Gooden, Sr. and entered into rest on June 26, 2017. Preceding John in death are his wife, Carol Barrilleaux Gooden and his parents, Amose and Alma Gooden, Sr. John leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Amose John “Trey” Gooden, III and wife Donna; two daughters, Nicole Houston and husband Charlie; Holly Gooden and Vernon; two brothers, Alfred Jerrell Gooden and wife LaJuana; Adrian Jerry Gooden and wife Beverly; one sister, Ava Joyce Gooden; and six grandchildren, Carol Kimble, Seth Houston, Colby Houston, Ryleigh East, A.J.

Graveside services honoring the life of Rex Heard, 81, of Logansport, LA were held at Bethel Cemetery on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Robert Barron officiating. Visitation was held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA from 6:00 PM till 9:00 PM. Rex Madison Heard died June 21, 2017 after a brief illness in Shreveport, LA. He was born January 1, 1936 to Johnny Huson Burkett Heard and Theresa Anna Green Heard in their home in Bethel, LA. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Martha Fayard Heard; and his brothers John Leonard Heard of Logansport, LA and James Raymond Heard of Mansfield, LA. Left to cherish his memory is his only son David Z.

William “Will” Burkett

Funeral services honoring the life of William “Will” Jones Burkett, 80, were held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 19, 2017 at Fellowship Baptist Church with burial that followed at Oak Grove community, near Converse, LA. The family received friends during visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA. Officiating were Rev. Jimmy Dan Lilley and Rev. Jim Tennery. Will was born on November 23, 1936 to Eddie William and Annie Belle Burkett and entered into rest on June 16, 2017. Will is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend in the community where he grew up. During life, Will served his church, his nation, and his family to set an example for others.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Sarah J. Drew of Grand Cane, LA; son, Phil Drew of Mansfield, LA, Robert W. Glenn Wayne “Pete” Kelly

Pete was born in Mansfield, La on August 1, 1949. He was called home on May 27, 2017. He was surrounded by his family he dearly loved. Pete was a Vietnam Marine Vet. In his early years he liked to hunt and fish, in his later years he cherished being with his children and grandchildren spending most of his time with them and other family members. He is preceded in death by his father Jack Kelly, Brother Marvin Kelly, First wife Doris “Sissy” Huey Kelly and son Benjamin Clay Kelly. He is survived by his Mother Maureen Kelly, wife Rosalyn Kelly, Son Glenn Wayne Kelly Jr. and wife Kaci, Daughters Krystal Terrell and husband Troy, and daughter Carrah Kelly, step-son Seth Mulvihill. Sisters Linda Sepulvado and husband Ronnie, Lillian Lagars and husband Joe. Brothers Mike Kelly and wife Kim, Kenneth Dyes and wife Brenda, nine grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pete was known for helping his friends or anyone that was in need.
