Steve Edward Bounds

A Memorial Service for Steve Edwin Bounds will be held at Rock Chapel on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Roy “Thumper” Miller will be officiating. Steve Bounds, age 59, of Logansport, Louisiana passed away on May 25, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 16, 1957 to Charles and Laverne Bounds in Monroe, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, where he met his wife Laura. They married on October 5, 1995 and had one son, Robert “Bobby” Edwin Bounds. Coaching and mentoring young men, especially Bobby, was his passion. Steve and Bobby could be spotted all over DeSoto parish playing baseball, basketball and football. He was also a fan of all Texas athletic teams, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Steve was employed by the Mansfield Historic Site. He co-authored two articles for the magazine “North and South”. Steve also enjoyed the outdoors and Civil War reenacting. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mansfield.

Bobbie Vinson Woodard

Bobbie Vinson Woodard, “Vinson”, a Haywood County North Carolina native, died unexpectedly of natural causes Saturday, May 21, 2016 near his home in Converse, Louisiana. Vinson was 68 years old. Vinson was a man of hard work and a brilliant furniture restoration craftsman. He had a keen sense of humor and a perpetual glint in his eye. Vinson’s passing is sure to conjure up many memorable stories for those who knew him. Vinson was preceded in death by his parents; Bonnie and Leslie Woodard and his wife; Kay Woodard. He is survived by: his siblings; Phyllis Evans of Waynesville NC and Wayne Woodard of Flat Rock NC, sons; Jason Woodard of Waynesville NC, John Woodard of Tucker, GA and Jordan Woodard of Statesboro, GA, and stepchildren; Jennifer Rider of Portland, Oregon, Brian Green of Gainesville, GA, Jonathan Green of Dublin. GA. Funeral Services were held Thursday, May 26th at 11:00 am at Union Springs Baptist Church in Converse, LA.

Funeral services honoring the life of J.W. Spraggins, 84, were at 12:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA where Reverend Richard Tull officiated. Burial followed at Reeves Cemetery in Logan, TX. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10:00 AM till time of service. J.W. was born on February 14, 1932 in Logansport, LA to Willie and Dosha Spraggins and passed away on April 21, 2016 in Bossier City, LA. Preceding J.W. in death are his parents Willie Robert Spraggins and Dosha Mae Furlow Spraggins. Those left behind to cherish his memory is his sons, Charles F. Spraggins from Plain Dealing, LA, George M. Spraggins and wife Traci from Shreveport, LA, Robert F. Spraggins and Anne from Bossier City, LA, David R Spraggins and wife Ronda from Dennison, TX; grandchildren, Amanda D. Spraggins, Charles F. Spraggins, Jr., Terri Franks, Kerri Sepulvado, Robert F.
