Wilton and Marcia Verret

Funeral services honoring the life of Wilton Paul Verret were held Monday, April 24, 2017, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield.Mr. Verret died April 21, 2017, just seven weeks following the death of his beloved wife of 57 years, Marcia Ann Bridges Verret, who died on March 5, 2017. Inseparable in life, Wilton and Marcia are now joined in heaven. They were natives of St. Mary Parish, LA, and 50-year residents of Mansfield, where they were active members and elders of Living Word Church. Wilton was born August 21, 1942 and Marcia was born Nov. 28, 1945.They are survived by a son, Marc Verret and wife Teresa of Florence, AL; two daughters, Jocklynn Keville and husband Bruce of Houston, TX, and Elysia Lowry of Mansfield; six grandchildren,Matthew Keville, Sedolia “Sadie” Sanders, Dustin Lowry, AdamVerret, Ian Lowry and Samantha Lowry; and one great grandchild,Elliott June Sanders.

Sally Baker Hudson

SHREVEPORT, LA - Sally Baker Hudson, 51, of Shreveport died April 16, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.Born December 15, 1965, in Mansfield, LA, Sally’s family has deep North Louisiana roots. After graduating from Central High School, Sally attended Louisiana State University of Shreve port and earned her B.S. in Medical Technology. For her entire 27-year career as a clinical laboratory scientist, Sally was a member of the Willis-Knighton Health System family. During her illness,that family supported Sally personally and provided her with the same level of excellent care that was her standard.

Funeral services honoring the life of Althia “Mickey” Veuleman, 84, of Pelican, were held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 10, 2017 at Wallace Baptist Church in Pelican, LA with Dr. Jeff Jinks, Reverend Joe Thibeau and Reverend James Moore officiated. Burial will follow at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, LA. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 5:30 PM till 8:00 PM. Mickey was born on March 13, 1933 to Earl P. and Myrtice Brown and entered into rest on April 8, 2017. Preceding Mickey in death is her husband, Ray D. Veuleman; parents, Earl P. and Myrtice Brown; sons, Michael Ray Veuleman, Donald Jeffery Veuleman; daughter, Cynthia Kay Veuleman; sister, Lois Brown Campbell; and son-in-law, Roger D. Jennings. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, James R.

Ms. Shirley Ann Angele

Shirley Ann Angele went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 27, 2017. She was born in Mansfield, LA on February 19, 1938 to Edwin “Eddie” Gronville Angele and Claire Elizabeth Tyler Angele. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church in Mansfield. She loved the Lord with all her heart and loved her family dearly. People who knew her loved her tender heart and her sense of humor. She was a retired LA Public Health Nurse and a real estate agent. She partnered with her sister, Kay, in a mail order business for many years. She loved fishing, traveling and watching westerns. Preceding Shirley in death were her parents and a brother, Milton Edwin Angele.

James Allen Hatcher

James Allen (Sonny) Hatcher, 79, of Union Springs Community of Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was born May 7, 1937 in Shreveport, Louisiana to James V. Hatcher and Feriene N. Powell Hatcher. Sonny grew up in Union Springs, Louisiana and served 4 years as a member of Army National Guard. He served 7 years in USAF. He retired from AT&T. Known to many as Papa Jim, Sonny and Joy for years were devoted foster parents. But his passion was writing and playing his music and years of being an AT&T pioneer clown. Sonny touched many lives. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and youngest brother, Earnest Ray (Tootle) Hatcher. He was survived by his wife, Joyce Bates Hatcher; sister, Elizabeth M. Moore and husband Bob of Brownsville, Texas; brother, Leo R. (Buster) Hatcher and wife Zella of Grand Cane, Louisiana and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and foster children.

Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 11AM till 1PM. Robert was born on July 14, 1942 to Guy and Anna Young in Benton, LA and entered into rest on March 22, 2017 in Mansfield, LA. Preceding Robert in death is his parents, Guy and Anna Young; five brothers and two sisters. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Kevin Wayne Young and wife Lisa of Mansfield, LA, Robert Edward Young, Jr. and wife Janie of Coweta, OK; daughter, Toni Diane Smith and husband Ricky of Shreveport, LA; ten grandchildren; 18 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Patricia Scott of Rockwall, TX; and brothers, James Young of Belton, TX and Jerry Young of West Monroe, LA.

Sara was born in Methvin, Louisiana on March 15, 1930 to George and Valma Graham and entered into rest on March 26, 2017 in Zwolle, LA. Preceding Sara in death is Husband, Rev. Wade Wiley, her parents, George & Valma Graham, two sons, two brothers and two sisters. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter Dianna Broussard and husband Dr. John Broussard of Bedford Texas, two sisters, Cascile Jones and Sammie Stakemiller, Daughter-in-law Rene Wiley of Ocean Springs, MS, six grandchildren; five Great-Grandchildren; and one great- great grandchild.

Funeral services for Rose Mary Myres Matthews were held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Services were held at Rose- Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, Louisiana with burial following in Liberty Hill Memorial Gardens in San Augustine, Texas. Rose Mary was born on December 29, 1926 to Robert and Rae Baker in Galveston, Texas. Rose Mary met and married Ruben A. Myres at the young age of “16”. Ruben and Rose Mary had three children; Robert A. Myres of Carencro, La., Mary Ollie Richard of Shelbyville, Texas and Alva L. Ellis-Babineaux of Lake Charles, La. During World War II, Rose Mary was one of the original “Rosie Riveters”. She later obtained her degree in Business Administration and worked as an Office Manager in Lake Charles, La. and Center, Texas until her retirement.

Mary was born in Bastrop, Louisiana on October 16, 1938 to Wille Eugene McLemore and Alice Neta McLemore and passed away on March 8, 2017 at her home in Flint, Texas. Mary was a retired Louisiana and Texas educator. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Wille and Alice McLemore; and siblings, Gene, Virginia, Billie Jo, Jerry, and James. Mary leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert McGough, and daughter, Nikki Franks and husband, Scott, son, John McGough and wife, Dinky, and son, Keith McGough and wife, Randi; granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth, Lauren, Calli, Sara, Haley, Amy, Brooke, and Rebecca; and grandson, Jeremy. Also, Mary has nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
