Ernest Norman Blalock

Ernest Norman Blalock, 70, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. He was born July 17, 1946 and was the only son of James Norman and Ruth Stephens Blalock. Mr. Blalock is survived by his two sisters, Jane Elizabeth (Blalock) Dunham and Norma Rebecca (Blalock) Murphy and four nephews, Eric Tullos, Hugh, Jay and Kelly Graham. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made in Ernest’s memory to either the Louisiana Lions Club Camp, 292 L. Beauford Dr., Anacoco, La. 71403 or the Back Alley Community Theatre, PO Box 152, Grand Cane, La. 71032.

Angela Gail Myers, 48 years old, from Logansport, Louisiana passed away January 29, 2017 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born in Crossett, Arkansas on October 1, 1968. She is survived by her loving daughters; Kattie and Carissa Wadkins, her husband, Kevin Myers, mother and father; Joan and Donnie Johnson, sisters, Theresa Orr and Melanie Martin, and brother, Mark Johnson. “We thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. We thought of you yesterday and days before that, too. We think of you in silence as we often speak your name. All we have are memories and your picture in a frame. Your memory is our keepsake with which we’ll never part. God has you in his keeping. We have you in our heart.

Burial followed at Bethsadia Cemetery in Many, LA. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home on Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 5:00 till 9:00 PM. Roland was born on March 30, 1944 in Many, LA to Amos M. and Nola Cooper and entered into rest on February 3, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Preceding Roland in death were his parents, Amos M.

Juanell Hughes

Juanell Hughes, loving sister, wife, mother, and grandmother entered into her eternal rest on January 22, 2017. Juanell was born on May 19, 1932 to Calvin and Barbara Galloway in Afton, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Gwyndel Galloway, Fern Golden Keeling, Dottie McDaniels, Grace Walden, Kate Parks, and Willie Parker; and brothers RC, Elvin, Olan, Bud, and Jim Galloway. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Joe Hughes of Logansport, LA, daughters Carolyn Sewell and Juana Countryman of Port Arthur, TX, grandsons Cody (Angela) and David Sewell, Caleb and Seth Countryman, Ricky, Jr. (Jordyn), and Randy Collida (Heather), and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three sisters: Doris Hill of Fort Worth, TX, Carol Huff of Stonewall, LA, and Pat Arbuckle of Logansport, LA. Juanell was a gifted cook, seamstress, and gardener.

The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 5:00 till 9:00 PM. Brenda was born on September 11, 1952, in Mansfield, LA to Pat Parker and Aline English Marshall. She entered into rest on January 29, 2017 in Keithville, LA. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Preceding Brenda in death were her father, Pat Parker; mother, Aline Marshall; stepdad, Rufus Marshall; brothers, Thomas Ray Parker and Troy Parker; sister, Ann Shelton; and grandson Cody L. Smith. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Ray Smith of Shreveport, LA; sons, Michael Smith of Shreveport, LA, and Justin Smith and wife Paula of Mansfield, LA; sisters, Debbie Mitchell and husband C.W.

Carl Kelvin “Sully” Sullivan

Funeral services honoring the life of Carl Sullivan, 71, were at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Cornerstone Ministry Cowboy Church in Logansport, LA where Reverend Frankie Mathis officiated. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM. Carl was born on May 18, 1945, in Denham Springs, LA to Clarence and Alice Sullivan and passed away on January 9, 2017 in Mansfield, LA. Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was honorably discharged after serving four years in the United States Air Force. Retiring after 27 years with Cleco, Carl was the owner and operator at Sully Tree Service in Mansfield, LA. Preceding Carl in death were his parents; Clarence and Alice Sullivan; his brothers; Cecil Sullivan and Ricky Sullivan. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Debra K.
