Funeral services honoring the life of Marie Wells, 96, were held 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Rose- Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Skip Noble and Reverend Pat Cobb. Burial
followed at Zion Rest Cemetery in Pelican, LA. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel on Wednesday, June 19, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. Marie was born in Marthaville, LA, and passed away at her home on Sunday, June 15, 2014. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA. Preceding Marie in death were her husband Alvin Wells;  parents Rufus and Annie Ross Carroll; grandchildren DeLana

Rose Lee Sherman Lyles

A life of love and service ended peacefully after a short illness June 8, 2014, with the passing of Mrs. Rose Lee Sherman Lyles. In her 94 years, Mrs. Rose was a devoted wife and a loving mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She was steadfast in her faith and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mansfield for over 50 years. She loved art, and was an accomplished painter. She also loved music and practiced
dancercise daily until the age of 93. Raised in rural Brouillette Community near Marksville in a large French and Irish Catholic family, Mrs. Rose moved to  Shreveport at the outbreak of World War II to study nursing at Charity Hospital. There she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse, met and married Wilmar M. “Bill” Lyles, her husband of 63 years. Mr.  Bill, a prominent local cattleman and businessman, passed before her in 2003.

Celebration of Life services for Sonya Deas Shaw, 44, was held Friday, June 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel with Rev. Ron Brown officiating. Interment immediately followed on the grounds of Mansfield Cemetery, Mansfield, LA under the direction of Rose-Neath Mansfield Chapel. The family welcomed guests for visitation Thursday, June 12,  2014 at the Mansfield Chapel from the hours of 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Sonya was born August 26, 1969 in Mansfield, LA and was called to dance with the angels on June 10, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. She will be missed by those who knew her. Left to cherish the precious  memories of Sonya are her husband, Richard Shaw; parents Wanda and Larry Deas; maternal grandmother, Doris Huey, one son, Trevor Dean Heyen; two daughters: Shelley Raelyn Heyen and Annie Hazel Shaw; one sister, Sissy Hall and

Visitation was on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Rose- Neath in Mansfield. Richard was born on March 20, 1959 to his parents John Wesley Foshee and Nell Foshee Vaughn. T.J. McCall

A service to honor the life of T.J. McCall, 35, will be held on Thursday, May the 22nd at 10 am at Rose Neath Chapel in Mansfield. Burial will follow at Paul Family Cemetery in Converse. Visitation will be held at Rose Neath Funeral Home from 5 to 9 pm on Wednesday, May the 21st. The native of Converse was born on February 20, 1979 and passed from this life on May 19,  2014 from natural causes. While his time on Earth was too short, the positive memories held by those left behind will be longlasting. T.J. was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, earning a degree in Kinesiology. While at SLU, he certified as a teacher in Health, Physical Education, and Social Studies. With a love of basketball, he served as head varsity basketball coach at Bossier, Marksville, Converse, and Zwolle during his career. Making several playoff runs, sending athletes to college on scholarships, and a deep passion for his work earned him the honor of Shreveport Times Coach of the Year in 2007.
