Amelia Ann Cason Keith

Fairview Alpha, La. Amelia Ann Cason Keith, 80, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, in Shreveport after a lifetime of service to her Lord. She was born Feb. 9, 1935, in Coushatta to Edward and Maggie Delia Cason. Funeral services to celebrate her reunion with Jesus were Monday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Fairview Alpha with the Rev. Kenneth Stanfill officiating and the Rev. James Nailes and the Rev. Donald Nailes assisting. Interment followed in Bethany Cumberland Church Cemetery in Fairview Alpha. Amelia Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, the Rev.

Lawana Curry

Our beloved mother, Lawana Jane Christian Curry passed away in Longview, TX on November 10, 2015. Lawana was born in Grand Cane, LA on July 31, 1932 to Haden and Ovada Stewart Christian. Lawana was a homemaker, a funloving mother and she greatly enjoyed dancing. Those who went on before her were her parents; her son J.H. Cicchiani; her sister June Hamilton; her brother Louis Christian. She will be missed by her children: Wanda and husband Jimmy Cordova; Janet Cicchiani, Billy and wife Carolyn Cicchiani; Zina  Cicchiani; Rhonda Conway and Chris Curry. Sister, Cecilia Castelnuovo and husband Ron. Grandchildren are: Chase Cordova, Lacey Cordova, Ryan Cicchiani, Ashley Cicchiani, Lennis and wife Jessica Lil Leaf Langley and Rebecca Grams. Great Grandchildren are: Ethan Cordova, Alejio Langley, Raini Langley, Kallie Langley, Raiden Langley, Shania Langley, and Stemarius Grams. Also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.

Robert Michael Metzger

Robert Michael Metzger, age 67, passed away Monday November 23 2015 at his residence in Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Metzger; and his fathers, David Metzger and Ralph Stansell. He is survived by his mother, Donna Stansell; sister, Helen LaFauci (Augie); wife, Linda Metzger; daughters, Stephanie Winsborrow (Will) and Donna Moorehead (Stephen); grandchildren, Kasey, Kelsey, Haleigh, Michael, Zane and Makayla; a number of nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones. The family would like to acknowledge a special thank you to his nurses and caregivers for their compassionate care. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. He was truly a blessing in our lives and we will miss him greatly.

Dorothy Jean Temple Ward Prine

Born Feb 24, 1931 eldest daughter of Newton and Annie Bell Temple; passed away November 23, 2015 at her residence in Murfreesboro, TN. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Jim A. Ward, second  husband Jim Prine, son Dale Ward, father Newton Temple Sr., mother Annie Bell Smith Temple, brother Newton (Buddy) Temple Jr., sisters Mary Helen Morris, Laverne Morris and Connie Watson. Dorothy leaves so many loving and fun memories for her daughter Judy Daniels, grand daughters Brandy Armstrong and husband Jeremy, Sherry Jones and husband Chris, one great grand daughter Madison Armstrong all of Murfreesboro, TN. Daughter-in-law Renée Ward of Springhill, TN. Sisters Jo Morris, Claudine Howard and husband Al, Maxine Collins and husband Raimon, Marie Rascoe and Troy, brother in law Dennis Watson. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Malcolm LeMoyne McDonald

A service to honor the life of Mr. Malcolm LeMoyne McDonald was at 10 am on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home where Bro. Bill Hudson and Bro. Calvin Phelps officiated. Interment, with military honors, followed at American Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family received friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Malcolm LeMoyne McDonald, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. He was born in Benson, LA to Robert Coleman McDonald and Mary Louise Terrell McDonald. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After his service to his country, he earned his Bachelor Degree from Northwestern State University and worked many years in the USDA office as the district soil conservationist. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Graveside services for Thelma D. Dertzo, 89, were 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Highland Cemetery, Mansfield, LA. Thelma was born November 6, 1925 in Mansfield, LA to Silas and Winnie Freeman and passed away October 31, 2015 in Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Dertzo, Jr.; parents Silas and Winnie Freeman; sisters Lucelle Freeman Edwards and Estelle Freeman Springer; brothers Jack Freeman, E. A. Freeman, Jeff Freeman, and Sidney Freeman; and brother-in-law John Dertzo. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son John Dertzo and wife Shirley; grandson David Dertzo and wife Nicky; great granddaughters Hannah and Paisley Dertzo all of Omaha, NE; brother Glen Freeman and wife LeAnn of Converse, LA; and sisterin- law Dot Dertzo of Melbourne, FL and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090 or the Serene Care Hospice 4905 S.

Earnest Lee Stanford

Earnest Lee Stanford was born on March 22, 1923 in Gloster, Louisiana to Ernest Lattin and Patsy Pennington. She passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, in Katy, at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her children, Alton Stanford, Jr. and his wife Brenda, Florida Fields and her husband Jessie, Patsia Moore and her husband Val, Albert Stanford, Linda Hicks, Amanda Stanford Adger and her husband Robert, Jewel Stanford, Johnnie Stanford- Bailey and her husband Dennis, Joe Lee Stanford, and Johnny Ray Stanford; 26 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a sister, Sarah Lattin. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Schmidt Funeral Home – Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Mt. Mariah Baptist Church in Kingston, Louisiana. Interment in Mt. Mariah Cemetery in Kingston, Louisiana.

Geneva Brown Curry

Geneva Brown Curry left her earthly home and entered Heaven’s gates on November 13, 2015. She was born on July 27, 1941 in Many, Louisiana and moved to Mansfield, Louisiana in 1947 where she lived out the rest of her life. Geneva graduated from Mansfield High School in 1960 and enjoyed staying in contact with her classmates over the years. Those friendships meant the world to her. Geneva leaves behind to cherish her memories two children, Michael E. Curry of Mansfield and Melissa Curry Guillory and husband Vince of Shreveport, Louisiana; two precious grandsons Cy and Nolan Guillory; Sisters Peggy McIlwain of Shreveport and Estelle Nunley of Longstreet, Louisiana; brother-in-law Tommy Derbonne of Carthage, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Ruben “Sie” and Opal Grafton Brown and sisters Yvonne Irene Brown and Martha Brown Derbonne.

The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM. Patsy was born April 14, 1944 in Nederland, TX to Will and Lora Worsham Love and passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Shreveport She is preceded in death by her father Will Roe Love; mother Lora Mae Worsham Love; and brothers Jimmy Maurice “Bo” Love and Bobby Gene Love.
