Robert J. Brown

Robert J. Brown passed away on the 2nd day of December 2017. Services were held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana on December 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM, with visitation prior to the service. Bro. Wayne Roberts of Woodsprings Baptist Church officiated. Burial followed at the Grand Cane Cemetery, Grand Cane Louisiana. Mr. Brown was born October 31, 1926 on the Brown family farm at 415 Brown Road in Grand Cane, La. a part of the Wood Springs Baptist Church Community. He was reared in the oil field towns of East Texas and South Louisiana where his father was employed by the Texas Oil Company. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Alton Brown & Claudie Jones Brown, and his grandparents, Ed Brown & Robbie Gamble Brown and Jack M. Jones & Beulah Williams Jones. He is survived by his cousins, Robert J.

Funeral Services for Lois Pea Stewart will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 9 December 2017 at Zion Hill #1 Baptist Church, 2511 Highway 3015 in Grand Cane, LA. Burial will follow at the Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on 8 December from 6 to 7 p.m. at Jenkins Funeral Home.

Mr. Roy Douglas Chism, 75, of Atlanta, TX, passed away on November 30, 2017. Visitation was held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield, LA on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 10:00 AM until service time. Services were held at 11:00 AM, with Revs. Ronnie Chism and Alton Middleton officiating. Burial followed at Old Union Cemetery in Benson, LA. Mr. Chism was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country with pride. Mr. Chism is preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Homer and Jackie Chism; his stepfather and mother, Bill and Vera Barber; his brothers, Homer “Buddy” Wayne and Gerry Milton Chism; and his sister-in-law, Linda Hall Chism. He is survived by his life-mate, Margaret Law; his son, Douglas W.

Rev. Patrick Henry Cavanaugh

FRIERSON, LA--Reverend Patrick Henry Cavanaugh, age 80, entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, November 18, 2017 after a long illness. He was born March 18, 1937 in Florien, La. He attended school in Leesville, La. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in El Paso, Tx. where he married the love of his life, Ima Lou Plummer. After serving in the Air Force, he moved his family to the Shreveport-Bossier where he worked for South Central Bell Telephone Company and retired from AT&T. Over the last 30 years, his desire to serve the Lord has led him to serve as pastor in a number of churches in DeSoto parish. In addition to serving the Lord, his other passions in life included spending time with his family, playing the guitar and violin, gunsmithing, woodworking, and being outdoors. He is survived by, his wife of 60 years, Ima Lou Cavanaugh, and their four children.

Billie Peacock Coker, 88, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, Louisiana, from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, November 14. Funeral services were held at 10 AM, Wednesday, November 15, in the chapel at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Mansfield, Louisiana with Pastor David Permenter officiating. Interment followed the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, Converse, Louisiana. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Peacock and Gladys Ammons Bosarge and husband of sixty-three years Davis “Hooks” Coker. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Poole Hayes of Monroe, Louisiana; Laverne Bailey and husband Howard of Jasper, Georgia; two sons, Billy Davis Coker and wife Jan of Stonewall, Louisiana; and Jimmy Carl Coker of Stonewall, Louisiana; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.
