MANSFIELD, LA--Funeral services honoring the life of Charles Dearman, 90, was at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Thumper Miller and Joshua Grimsley officiating. Burial followed at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 6PM till 9PM. Charles was born on February 22, 1927 to Charles William Dearman and Harriet Dearman Crouse and entered into rest on October 9, 2017. He served honorably in the Army/Air Force during WWII and the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Dow Chemical Company, enjoyed woodworking, and gardening. Most of all he enjoyed his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Malloy, Jack, Tim, Fred and Billy Dearman; and his sisters, Irma Dearman, Virgie Rascoe, Katherine Wixen, Helen Besselman, and Hettie Alford.

MANSFIELD, LA-- A Celebration of Life Service for Dwena Mills Henry, 92, was held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Stanley High School Gymnasium, with Rev. Amador Santos of Hunter Magnolia Baptist Church and Rev. Weldon Sistrunk former pastor of Magnolia Baptist Church. Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Stanley, LA. The family will received friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Logansport Chapel. Dwena was born September 14, 1925 in Logansport, LA to Violet Fox Mills and John Mills and went to be with her Lord and Savior October 2, 2017. She served her community with dignity and style.

LOGANSPORT, LA--Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Vera Register, 105, will be at 1:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Logansport, LA with Reverend Dean Register officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 6 PM till 9 PM. Vera was born on March 11, 1912 to George and Janie McCrery Sample and entered into rest on September 29, 2017. Preceding Vera in death are her husband, Joel Huson Register; her parents; grandson, James Register, Jr.; son-in-law, David Davis; two sisters, Luella Sample Fregia and Garland Sample Morrell; and one brother, James Sample.

A Celebration of Life Service for Kathleen Creech Cates, 82, was held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2017, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, LA, with Rev. Barbara Driscoll officiating. Interment followed at Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA. The family received friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2017 at the funeral home. Kay was born October 16, 1934, in Logansport, LA to Valeria Roberts Creech and William Howard Creech and went to be with her Lord and Savior September 26, 2017. Kay is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years John Albert Cates, Sr., and her daughter Joy Ann Carstensen. Left to cherish her memory is her special friend of 15 years, Ray Urban of Bossier City, LA; son, John Albert Cates, Jr.

Tommy Glen David LOGANSPORT, LA--Memorial services honoring the life of Tommy Glen David, 74, was held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, LA. The family received friends for visitation at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 3PM till 4PM. Tommy was born on August 17, 1943 to Tom Edwin and Doris Jean Mayfield David and entered into rest on September 17, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Tommy Glen David, Jr. of Tenaha, TX, Wade David and wife Connie of Shreveport, LA; sister, Twilla Dyess of Shreveport, LA; brother, Eddie David and wife Sue of Loogootee, IN; grandchildren, Cody Price, Blake Price, Dylan David, Hayden David; and five great grandchildren.

Laffitte “Winkler”, 68, was at 11 AM on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mansfield, LA with Father James Moran officiating. Burial followed at Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. Visitation was at 5:00 PM till 9:00 PM Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Rose-Neath’s Mansfield Chapel. Rosary was held at 6:00 PM. Connie was born on August 25, 1949 to Joseph and Gladys Howard Laffitte in Mansfield, LA and entered into rest on September 11, 2017 in Shreveport, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her niece, Lana Lafitte Hutto.

Garlon David Slay MANSFIELD, LA--Funeral services honoring the life of Garlon Slay, 70, was at 2:00 PM Monday, September 4, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Reverend Larry Pridmore officiating. Burial followed at Highland Cemetery in Mansfield, LA. The family received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Monday, September 04, 2017 from 10AM till time of service. Garlon was born on January 14, 1947 to Jewel and Johnnie Cobb Slay in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana and entered into rest on September 2, 2017 in Mansfield, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Dorothy Slay; and nephew, Phillip Slay. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his brothers, Wain Slay, Dennis Slay and wife Marie; sister, Martha Whitlock and husband Frank; nephews, Michael Slay and wife Lori, Jim Slay and wife Nikki, Brandon Slay, Nathan Whitlock; and a numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Charlotte “Dianne” Anderson Rascoe Funeral services honoring the life of Dianne Rascoe, 71, were at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA with Reverend David Permenter officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, LA. The family received friends at Rose- Neath Funeral Home on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 5PM till 7PM. Dianne was born on July 13, 1946 to Wilmer and Geneva Burlison Anderson in Logansport, LA and entered into rest on August 31, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents. Dianne graduated from Northwestern State University in 1967 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology. She worked for the DeSoto Parish Community Service Office as Office Manager and retired after 28 years of service. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Chal Rascoe, Jr.

Celebration of Life Services for Angela Ann Mosley Grooms, age 42, was held at 10:00 am Saturday September 2, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Haughton, LA with Dr. Gevan Spinney officiating. Assisted by Dr. Scott Sullivan. Interment followed at Hill Crest Memorial Park in Haughton. The family received friends on Friday, September 1, 2017 from 5-7 pm at First Baptist Church Haughton. Angela was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and grand-daughter. She was a friend to many and will be missed by all that knew her. She was always available to listen and share her thoughts in a friendly conversation. She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, sewing, T-shirt designing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. A loyal and dedicated mother of the 4-H programs, she was always willing to assist and help with the children's show projects. Angela was originally of the Catholic faith, but was currently an active member of First Baptist Church Haughton.

Celebration of life and going home service for Helen Lee McFarland, 87, was held Monday, August 28, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Coushatta at 11:00 AM with Reverend Larry Pridmore officiating and assisted by Reverend Lee Dickson. Interment followed at Springville Cemetery in Coushatta, LA. Visitation was held Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Mrs. McFarland was born September 5, 1929, in Mansfield, LA to Earl F. and Priscilla Callie Johnson and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 26, 2017, in Alexandria, LA. She was married to Owen Lee for 38 years being blessed with four children and grandchildren until his passing. She remarried Robert McFarland for 22 years being blessed with his children and grandchildren until his passing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
