Patricia was born on August 9, 1926 to Clarence and Ida Chamberlin and entered into rest on January 7, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Sam Hesser; her parents; her sisters, Florence Waters, Reba Brooks, Anita Ann Chamberlin; and grandson, Joey Hesser. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Joseph P. Hesser and wife Amy of Garland, TX, Paul Hesser and wife Cissy of Mansfield, LA, Sam G.

Ouida Tyler Lowe was born on December 31, 1918 to the late Jessie Spears Dick Stovall and Joe Stovall in the Hunter Community near Logansport, Louisiana and died on January 17, 2018 at age 99 at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Henderson, Texas. She was survived by her two daughters, Jean Whiddon of Hideaway, Texas and Gail Jones and husband Donald of Tatum, Texas.

Alfred was a 1960 graduate of Willsboro Central School, NY. Alfred married Hazel Jenney on May 18, 1997 at Rock Chapel, Mansfield, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Norma Sharrow; siblings, Ruth Sharrow Duboin, David Sharrow, Rolland Sharrow, Harold Sharrow and Raymond Sharrow, Sr.; granddaughter, Kaitlin Morris and great grandchild, Jackson Duke. Alfred is survived by his wife of 21 years, Hazel Sharrow; brothers, Charles Sharrow, Jr.

Burch, 83, were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Stanley High School Gymnasium in Stanley, LA with Bro. Tommy McMellon officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, LA. The family will received friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, LA on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5pm till 8pm. Jarrell was born on September 2, 1934 to Lonnie and Martha Liles Burch and entered into rest on January 2, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Janell Johnston Sowell; and his seven siblings. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and uncle. He was employed with Southern Bell for 18 years as a telephone service man. He was also a Policy Jury Man in DeSoto Parish for many, many years with countless contributions to the people of DeSoto Parish. He had several businesses in his life time.

Bonnie was born November 13, 1953 in Converse to Ethel R. and William J.B. Smith. Her long battle with heart and kidney disease came to a peaceful end on January 10, 2018. As she requested, her body has been donated to science. A “celebration of life” will be held at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Shane and Bryant Calhoun, on Saturday, February 3, 2018, form 2 until 4. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that contributions be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church cemetery fund, 369 Nash Road, Logansport.

Gracie was born on Thursday, June 19, 1952 in Houston, Texas to Ralph & Millie Colson. She attended North Shore High School, where she was a proud member of the Scarlets Drill Team. Following high school, she attended nursing school, married the love of her life, and started a family. Being a wife, mom, mamma, and nurse were her greatest accomplishments in her own eyes. She deeply loved her God, her family, her pets, her friends, and each patient she ever cared for. Gracie was a breast cancer survivor, and became actively involved in the Relay for Life in Claiborne Parish. In November, 2015 she began a battle with stage 4 cancer. She endured surgeries, multiple procedures, treatments, and was in & out of remission before going to heaven on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Living her life to the fullest until the end, though her body was worn she never lost her fighting spirit. Her faith in God was never stronger than when she was ill.

SARDIS COMMUNITY, LA-- Funeral services honoring the life of John Tatum, 86, were held December 23, 2017 at Beulah Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA with Reverend David Permenter officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery in Converse, LA. John was born on April 3, 1931 to C.W. and Sally Tatum and entered into rest on December 21, 2017. He was hard-working and faithful to his wife, children, great-grandchildren, family, and friends. John was born and raised in the Sardis Community. Honest hard-work and determination were part of his large family of 3 boys and 5 girls. These traits were the very core of the man John Tatum became. Upon finishing high school, John served in the Air Force for 8 years as an aircraft mechanic. Once he served his country, John moved his family back to the Sardis Community to own and operate dairy farm for several years.
