Mansfield Mayor and Alderman Honor Outgoing Aldermen; Approve Authorization for Special Election

At the regular meeting of the Mansfield City Council, two outgoing aldermen were honored for their public service. G. B. “Sonny” Hall was presented a plaque acknowledging his service of 14 years to the people of District A as
well as the City of Mansfield as a whole. Mary Green, who was recently elected, will now represent the constituents in Hall’s district

Governor’s Games and Balloon’s Over DeSoto Events Both Rescheduled

If you tried to attend the Governor’s Games that were to be held at the DeSoto Parish Sports Complex, and came to an empty venue, they had to be rescheduled due to severe weather in South Louisiana on the spur of the
moment. Roads were flooded and closed preventing teams, coaches, officials and fans from the Southern region of the state from reaching their Mansfield destination

Stonewall Public Servant Retires After Forty Years of Service

At the regular meeting of the Stonewall City Council, longtime public servant Curtis McCune was honored with a reception for his forty years of service. McCune was the first elected mayor of the Town of Stonewall in 1974, serving in that capacity until 2010. At that point McCune decided it was time for a change in leadership, letting someone younger take on the office of Mayor
