Local Sheriffs Elected to Serve as Officers at 2014-15 Board Meeting

Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack has been elected President of the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Association for the 2014-15 term, succeeding Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso, according to Michael Ranatza,  Executive Director of the LSA. Sheriff Waguespack will lead the Association’s sixty-four chief law enforcement officers and 14,000 deputies.

Jim Hill Area Chair for Northwest Louisiana Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an office of the Department of Defense, announced that on July 16, 2014, Mansfield Police Chief, Gary D. Hobbs  and  Officer Jeremy Burton with the Mansfield Police Department, and Jimmy Granger and Jimmy Helbert of Jimmy Granger Ford in Stonewall were honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of  extraordinary support of employees who serve in the Louisiana National Guard and Reserve

DeSoto Mayors Gather for Quarterly Meeting

Each quarter, the mayors of DeSoto Parish gather to share ideas and problems concerning each community. The meeting held on July 10, was hosted by Logansport Mayor Katherine Freeman, and was held at Riverʼs Edge Restaurant in Logansport, which also included the Mayorsʼ support staff personnel, DeSoto Chamber of Commerce staff and area media.
