The Friends of the Mansfield Female College own the Clista A. Calhoun Center and support the museum.

The Friends group raises money for items needed in the museum such as bookshelves. They hold a Christmas party and buy seasonal decorations for the museum and the Clista A. Calhoun Center. The Friends’ membership dues go toward building needs, such as flowerbeds or dormers for the windows.

In 2017, the village has worked towards this goal. They have removed some old houses and cleaned up lots. They have also worked to get the community to keep their property cleaned. They have also worked to keep roadsides clean and trees cut back from roads.
