DeSoto Parish Native Tackles Small Town Controversies In New Book

Article Image Alt Text

Ilsa Plaisance, a DeSoto Parish native who now lives in Longwood, was tired of waiting for a character she identified with in television shows. She decided to write her own story that included normal people who could live down the road from her. In her book, “We Are All a Little Broken,” Plaisance tells a story about a community like the one she grew up in while trying to show the diversity that exists in it that people do not talk about.

“We Are All a Little Broken” is the story of two sisters who are hardworking farm girls who in their own way are both a little broken. It is a story about love, culture, healing and self-discovery.
