This week, schools throughout DeSoto Parish are participating in the National Red Ribbon Campaign. Known as Red Ribbon Week, students are engaging in various activities targeted to raise awareness regarding alcohol, tobacco, drug, and bullying/violence prevention. “We live in an increasingly complex world where our youth are exposed to frequent negative influences in their lives on television, social media, conversations, and gaming,” said Dr. Cade Brumley, DeSoto Superintendent. “We want to support the work of our parents in preparing children to better understand how to avoid dangerous environments and realize the consequences of poor choices.”
