Cheyenne Bell of Mansfield Visits with ULL Admissions Representative

Jessica Carter, right,  spoke with Laci Watson, a senior from Franklinton, and Cheyenne Bell, a junior from Mansfield, about ULL and what it has to offer LSMSA students.

Books and Biscuits Book Club Hosts Longview Educator and Author Rose Bayless

Bayless, originally from Mansfield now living in Longview, recently published her first book “A Teacher’s Touch: Legacies, Legends, and Pacesetters of the Classroom”.

Mansfield Garden Club January Meeting

The Mansfield Garden Club met at the DeSoto Parish Library January 20, 2016, for its regular monthly meeting. After greetings from Gail Gage, subbing for Jackie Albright President, members answered the roll call by telling a tree they had planted in their yards celebrating Arbor Day. January 22, 2016 is Louisiana’s Friday to celebrate Arbor Day.

Tea Pots and Tea Sets on Display at the Mansfield Main Library

Frances Tyler, acquisitions employee at the Main Branch of the DeSoto Parish Library, has a portion of her tea pot and tea set collection on display at the front entrance of the library. She said friends have donated part of her collection, some were gifts and some were self purchased. The blue set with the gold trim and two more sets were given by a friend who purchased the items in England.

Junior ROTC Celebrates 100 Years

As we enter 2016, an important centennial milestone occurs for American education. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Junior ROTC, a popular citizenship and character building program for over 3000 high schools throughout the country; and locally at Mansfield and North DeSoto high schools.
