The Griffins finally got back on track last week when they opened district play with a win against their rival Northwood. They looked to stay on the winning side of things this week against BTW.

BTW received the ball to start the game. It was a quick three and out. The Griffins opening drive didn’t last long either. Luke Delafield threw an interception in the redzone. However BTW didn’t get any points from the turnover as they went three and out again. Kenny Thomas only took two plays before he scored on the next drive. They tried to fake the extra point for two but didnt convert. It was 6-0 with 6:41 left.

BTW goes three and out again, but a person foul penalty backs up the Griffins starting field position. They couldn’t overcome the bad field position and went three and out and punted.

Griffins were coming off a tough loss on the road a week ago. Not only did they lose the game, but top receiver Cole Cory suffered an injury that’ll cause him to miss significant playing time, maybe the season. The Griffins faced no easy task this week as the West Monroe Rebels came to town.

West Monroe received the ball to begin the game. They moved the ball down field getting two first downs on the drive before taking it into the endzone. It was 7-0 with 8:07 left. The offense was moving well on their first drive. Luke Delafield completed passes to Eli Procell and Jarred Jackson for first downs but they eventually stalled and turned it over on downs.
