The Mansfield High School Wolverine Track Team travelled to Shreveport on Thursday, April 4, to participate in the Huntington High School Raider Relays at Lee Hedges Stadium.

DeSoto Regional Health System Foundation has announced plans for their 2024 2Man Scramble to be held at The Club at Huntington Park Golf Course in Shreveport on April 27.

The schedule will begin at 8:30 a.m. with shotgun, with lunch following play. The cost is $250.00 per team, which includes tournament green fees, cart fees, range balls, tee gifts, food, and prizes. There will also be a Closest to Pin and Longest Drive contest.

A full field will be 60 two-man teams (120 players) with Flights and Flight Winners to be determined at the end of the event. Cash prizes will be awarded.

Also, a raffle drawing will be held for custom fitting Titleist TSR Driver with stock shaft, 7 clubs, T350 Irons with steel shafts and a Scotty Cameron Putter. Tickets to participate are $10.00 each with cash, checks and credit cards accepted.

Jim and Linda Vidler enjoyed a weeklong visit from their son, Noah, along with Klarissa Hawkins, grandson Hayden and granddaughter Rebel Skye, daughter of Amanda and Jason Raynes. They also enjoyed participating in the Barber Sandbass Tournament last weekend. Looks like they had a great haul of fish between the four of them.

The Many Bass Club’s March Tournament was fished on March 9 and 10. The anglers could choose to fish either Saturday or Sunday. Twenty-three anglers fished the tournament and only seven of them landed five-fish limits. Saturday’s weather was overcast, with a cold front blowing in on 1520 mph winds and temps dropping during the day into the mid-fifties. Sunday’s weather was high and bright with temperatures rising from the upper thirties to the mid-fifties. The bite was definitely better on Saturday when the top two stringers and Big Fish were caught. Most of the fish were caught shallow near spawning areas.

If you drove by Mansfield High School on Tuesday, March 5, and Wednesday, March 6, you probably noticed the large crowds at Washington Taylor-Rogers Stadium. On Tuesday, the Mansfield Middle School hosted its annual Wolverine Middle School Relays, and on Wednesday, March 6, Mansfield High School hosted its annual Wolverine Relays.

At both meets, there were over 15 schools participating!

One of the highlights of the MHS Relays was the recognition of the 1984 Lady Wolverine Track Team.
