Dillion Cotton is a familiar face around DeSoto Parish participating in everything from hunting trips for those that are wheelchair bound, to the Special Olympics, on to fundraisers. This young man always has a smile and a high-five to give family and friends, and even the new people he meets in everyday life. Having Cerebral Palsy has never stood in Dillon’s way as an obstacle to live his life to the fullest. His dad, Billy Cotton, is the Warden of the DeSoto Detention Center, and has always found the time to do things with Dillon outdoors like care for and feed his horses and cows, go hunting, and whatever else Dillon wants to experience.

On June 21, DPSO Lt. Dean Register, along with his brothers Joey and Craig, invited Dillon and his dad to go on a fishing adventure, where he ended up catching a 6 pound bass in Logansport. This was Dillon’s first time in a boat, EVER, and the video they got of it was quite entertaining and hilarious.
