The DeSoto Parish School System has named its District Teachers of the Year. These three teachers, representing elementary, middle, and high school, were selected from among their peers to be the system’s teaching ambassadors. Each school in the system nominates a teacher to be considered for the district Teacher of the Year honor. Characteristics such as success in the discipline, commitment to the profession, student outcomes, and displays of public service are all considerations when selection committee reviewed applications.

“These teachers represent the deliberate work taking place in classrooms throughout DeSoto Parish,” said Dr. Cade Brumley, Superintendent. “I’ve personally visited each of their classrooms and can vouch for the manner in which they effectively engage students in the learning process, build relationships, and achieve desired student results.”
